  1. Anyone know what years of new generation gsxr exhaust headers will fit a gsxr1100k? Can't find much information on exhaust port diameters to compare year to year.  Not worried about overall fitment under the motor as I'm just looking for a cheap header to cut up to turn into a turbo manifold.

Are the cam to cam links actually beneficial in any way Gixer1460?..just curious

Cams get abit of a shit deal when it comes to there share of oil, it gets restrictive and that's never good, so this just help prolong abit of life

  3. Wanting to make my own cam oil feeds, anyone know what size banjo bolts I'll need to go into the head? Is it an irregular size/thread? As the ones I have laying around don't seem to want to fit.

  4. I'm no expert but it sounds like the the a/f is way off and flooding the engine. I'm not sure about the 750 carbs but the jets shouldn't be too much bigger than those. I wouldn't think that going from 155 to 160 jets will help.

One thing I'd also check is oil contamination. A quick sniff will normally give you a good indication, if it reeks of fuel then you may have washed out the cylinders. Check compression to confirm this.

i don't think any of them are oil cooled [I've not seen one] i always thought the oil was just for lube baby, and as for the ones that have a water jacket, you just don't need to use it, leave the threaded holes open.

Mitsubishi showguns and pajeros use a td04 that is oil cooled.

Iv been abit confused by this water + oil thing since I started looking at doing a turbo project lol that would explain it though I'd worry about the bearings lifespan from no cooling

  6. Pic isn't working. So totally guessing what you are talking about but do you mean the slides connected to the diaphragms? If so as long as it's almost fully closed (about 1-2mm gap at bottom) as you look through the barrel that's right.

  7. Tbh if it feels good at 3.25 turns then leave it at that, the 2.5 turns is just a guide to get things running so it can be fine tuned. Just keep playing with them. If you want to get more exact you could try a carb balancer or a a/f meter. Depends how precise you want/need to be for the application.

the pops/bangs could just be unburnt fuel from playing with it. Tune it to where it sounds right, take if for a run, then adjust if needed.

  8. Im having problem after problem with these dam carbs. Got them back on the engine at last and on start up there is fuel coming out of the main air jet hole on the front of the carb? Not sure how. Maybe the jet hasn't seated correctly? Help :(

  9. Iv Got a very annoying oil leak from cylinder 2 lower exhaust bolt. Part of the cylinfer head has cracked away and has previously been retapped and 'repaired' with a longer bolt. But oil is still getting through the thread and onto the exhaust.

The annoying bit is that I have another head and was planning to replace but I don't want to take on the extra effort and expense of removing the engine and replacing it till next year when the barrels are ready for the cc upgrade. Is there anything I can do in the mean time to seal the thread? I thought of plumbers tape but on researching I found it'll just melt lol I also thought of a stud jbwelded into place but again I found the temp rating to be too low and it'll just disintegrate.

    Suggestions?

  10. Crank case breathers, are they worth the extra effort? Iv seen a couple welded into the gsxr11 clutch housing. Just wonder if they are actually beneficial?

  11. I hope you meant to type 0.2 bar or about 2.5 - 3.0psi? Obviously a boost sensitive regulator is a requirement to add boost pressure to that setting. Certainly the FCR's are an unusual choice but they are about as good as possible using roller slides to prevent boost induced slide jamming. Smoking could have a few causes not necessarily turbo - fubar'd rings / bores through over fuelling is a possibility?

ty for correction, auto correct must have changed it
