big thank you to mr jason for the TR750 seat unit.....keeping the OSS stylee
  2. Yep....planning to keep Dave company in the inters on Saturday
  3. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated......new engine mounts and moving the fuel tap sounds good, no frame tubes to cut and shut.....gives more chassis options
  4. Hi just wondering if anyone on here has fitted a 1000 motor into a 750 frame and what sort of a job it is...... I know the gsx is an easy conversion from 7 - 11 but don't have as much knowledge with the gs
  5. And me 2 peds...... booked at the beginning of the month although have not received any confirmation of the booking as yet?

quick update time....... the tank is now finally fully stripped, it took ages which in hindsight would have been quicker to have chemically done......but wheres the fun in that lol have been chipping away at the electrics which i am now nearing completion, just need to decide what sort of ignition switch to fit and where to put it, hopefully i can get away without fitting indicators but will have to see as its on a Q plate. feel like it has turned a big corner today after getting some new, smaller front brake discs......now the front nissins all line up properly on the adapter brackets that a good friend gave me, have also sorted the rear brake with a re-built slingshot rear caliper and mildly adapted slabside torque arm......jobs a good un!

she's getting there mate......not sure if she'll be ready for the Dragon but getting closer now..... the old oil cooler was leaking so i got a shiny new one from China and have cobbled up a mounting bracket, just waiting on a hose separator to arrive to finish the job. have been tiding up the electrics and without too much drama will re-locate most of the gubbins under the tail..... have also stripped all the paint off the tank, was thinking of just leaving it brushed alloy but it has been lead filled in a number of places so i'm back to re-spraying it again....

will be over on saturday for the night......sorry i can't do an OSS (slabby now sold) but should be on two wheels
  11. sorry if this has been covered but i can't find anything in the search section....... what spark plugs do people recommend for a GR77A - 750 slingshot engine? the standard plug listed for it is the NGK - JR7C which i have never come across before, the bike is fitted with race pipe and pipercross dual foam filters, 36mm standard carbs

That is how I found the bike, it looks like the cantilever top mount has only been braced for rising rate rather than removed but only media blasting will reveal everything for sure........the early frame numbers would tally up an early build date

I have been looking at the moto martin endurance fairing from ragged edge but would be interested in alternatives if it's something you would consider parting with

Cheers Ash, as Ben said it's got plenty of potential.....I'd like to ride it for a bit but it would be a shame not to get a gs motor back in it at some point and put the rear suspension back to how it was meant to be.....

a little update and a couple of photo's for anyone that didn't see the bike at Donington Park...... iv'e swapped the sump and oil pick-up to one off a slabby for for a better fit with the old V & H exhaust headers and fitted new oil cooler lines.....she's now a runner, still needs setting up but at least its heading in the right direction. i have also been in contact with Georges Martin who has confirmed he made the frame in 1980/81 and it was originally built for a GS1000 motor

Great call @katana...... Will do our best to make it, canna beat a good party
  19. found this in a 1988 PB mag, these are all alloy but the idea is exactly the same, the steel version would have been a budget/earlier product i reckon
  20. I think its a jmc conversion, seen them before but not for years.... there early swingarms were steel almost identical to the davida arm

it is indeed the real deal, frame number gives it away lol....seriously though, you can also tell by the quality of workmanship, proper job....updates to come soon with any luck...

my first job was to remove the ugly RC30 seat unit and assess what i had to work with.... Specs are; 750 slabside forks & yokes, swingarm, shock, clocks and headlights AP calipers CMA aero wheels with what look to be GSX discs Telefix adjustable clip-ons GR77A motor and carbs Although the powder coat on the frame is showing its age abit i'd rather get the bike up and running to see how it rides before doing a full strip and rebuild. Cant rush it as we're in the process of moving house at the mo, but have found a nice replacement single seat unit and will get new tyres, battery etc when i have some spare cash. Will probably swap the CV carbs for some flatsides too.

Here is the latest edition to my collection, very happy to now proudly own a Moto Martin with a 750 slingshot engine. This is how it looked when i brought it home, the frame number is in the early 1000's and it was first registered in 1995. I found all the old tax discs in the holder which i love, it shows the bike was kept on the road until 1999 and has always been local to me which tallyed with the verbal history from the previous owner.
