  1. Hi All

I have checked the coil as detailed in the manual. It seems that the coil feeding 2 & 3 is breaking down. There primary is reading 4ish but no reading when multi-meter connected to both plug caps. The other coil reads 4ish and 35ish between the plug caps.

The misfire is consistent but there appears to be a weak spark at the plugs (earthed plug on head) is this enough to cause horrendous misfire?

What does anyone think about replacement? E-bay standard, cheap Chinese or Dyna with Taylor leads?

    Any help appreciated

  2. Hi All

My 1981 GSX 1100 has developed a misfire. No1 seems to be the culprit and possibly No4. Misfire is consistent and I suspect the coils.

    Original coils

    New plugs

    Wiring cleaned and checked

    Any help appreciated...

    Cheers

  3. Hi

I'm no expert but I have GSX 750 W (Inazuma) (43mm) forks in GSXR (K?) yokes with Ohlins springs and custom risers.

Works fine but you need to sort lock stops.

    Hope this helps...

  4. I found that a 520 chain and debben offset drive sprocket makes 180 possible. 170 is easier though. Bandit swing arms are easier to fit than gsxr types (wider at pivot) but jac and metmachex make bespoke, braced alternatives.

i found it difficult to get a clear chain run and keep the wheels aligned.

Shock mounts are an issue too. Shocks like to work without shear forces created by being moved outwards to clear the chain.

There are some talented people on here than can give advice and help. Anything is possible!

  5. Hi All

Have bought a coil that looks like a later model type (GSX F?). The low tension wires are black / black-white but the loom has a white / orange-white connection. Can anyone tell me which wire goes where?

Secondly, the new coil has the plug wires one above the other, whilst the standard ones are side by side. Which one is which?

    Any help appreciated...
