  1. Thanks for the input on the DOT head and carbs, so now I can move on to the air filters and/or box. From there I can decide where and how to place the wiring loom and battery.
  2. I'm building a GSX1100ET with B12 engine, forks, wheels etcetera. The engine is in place and now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the carbs, inlet rubbers and air filters. So it's time to ask for advice from people who know soooo much more than me. The parts I have available are: -stock B12 head with camshafts -stock B12 carbs -stock B12 inlet rubbers -DOT-head inlet rubbers -DOT-head (one with and one without camshafts) -4 degree ignition advancer -2 double K&N pods (RU-2922, so 1 pod for 2 carbs) I plan to use a DOT-head and I'd appreciate some advice on which inlet rubbers, camshafts and air filters. I'm not into high revving for loads of hp, I prefer torque. Air pods don't need a lot of space but are not the easiest to set up, so I'm considering making some sort of air filter housing to create a smoother air flow. I was thinking about placing the pods inside the air filter housing, or alternatively a housing with one air filter instead of pods. Let me know your thoughts...
  3. lately i've been searching the net for 750J dot head inlet rubbers. it appears that some company from chinesia sells them, so maybe they can help you out. as for the dot head inlet rubbers, they had the same part numbers as the 750 katanas, which had dot heads until '93. i finally found them that way, and even quite close to home
  4. thanks. what's the reason to go for twin type filters instead of four single filters?
  5. Hi all, i'm new here and here's my first topic. I'm building an '83 GSX1100 with B12 running gear, so basically it's just the '83 frame (or what's left of it) with '00 stuff. The plan is to switch to a dot head with the B12 cams for low down grunt, and use a 4 degree ignition advancer. So now I've just cleaned up the carbs and the plan is to run them with single pods. Carbs are 38mm and they are slightly oval where the pods come. Which pods should I look at and what diameter? And which jet size should I start with? thanks
