  1. Just fit new float needle valves in and this will fix flooding issues, only need untrasonc cleaning if there is idle issues, I can happily say I've used the German made profi fuel max . Additive in tank it's amazing stuff and ONLY one I'd would recommend . Cleans jets float bowls inside like new £15 per bottle lasts ages .

M&p in uk sell it and sure you can find it in Europe too.

  2. Defo Mikuni ,34,s are good  carbs , those mikuni jet spacers are very important to hold the emulsion tubes Down, hence your lean issues and hotness problem ! You can just make them from alloy tube really there just a spacer .

  3. Ive got one of these to do next week 98-gsxf rotten exhaust , I've got nexus pipe, from slabside which im sure with a little swapping of said sumps will be fine.  It's just those horrid rotten head boots, plus gas and gas torch. Will see I guess , all good FUN ....

  4. Personally I've reused circlips if they in good shape! And take your time fitting them , double triple check everything. As for oil O rings allways use new O.E.M and same on head stud oil gallery type, Allways new ! Copper washers just anneal them with gas torch red hot and allow to cool then they will soft enough to torque down nicely.

I allways used wellseal assembly compound on my oil cooled motors never had an issue with bigger boost.

  5. Yep, billet tops will fix this issue or we have done another with notched frame inside, these carbs and dot head made 147bhp, so worth it for sure!

I had them on my 750.g also same issues ,if you want to run 38,s then you will have to get carb top solution.  As for tap pingel dual outlet only way to go, with slingshot you may have to dress tap mount area dished in buy 10mm or so.

  6. Airwolf,  Sorry if you have allready been though the carbs few times allready it's frustrating for sure. Back to float needle valves have you replaced the o-rings on the outer brass valve body?  And new needle valve too.

I would change these as mater of course if there fresh new items it takes this out of equation. Mixture screws I would remove and check the pointy tips (taper) as these can break off blocking !!! idle mixture from getting through. Been there done that. Set all four mixture screws 1-3/4 turns out as base line, if you have done all this ignore my waffling on.

Then bench Syncronise them. Easy job with 4 new clean drill bits as feeler gauge type of thing. Use idle adjuster to open your throttle up, to a point where all four drills can be slipped under butterfly's, then adjust 1-2 carbs until they feel same dragging on drills, then 3-4 same way, and finally each pair together nicely.

and unscrew your idle adjuster screw to original  Postion,

not cv carb in piccy but you get the  idea.
