You can see the 5mm of disc thats now not being used there due to them being smaller, would think there will be a 5mm amount of pad on the outside not being used too.

Nope, these Pretechs are designed for 320mm discs(slingshot, bandit 1200 and rf900 are 310mm discs). The discs in the picture are 310mm ebc cast iron(which is why the rust line) discs on gsxr750l forks and wheel. They still worked one finger braking, even with the smaller contact patch,so didn't bother me!

I originally had the Pretechs on my old srad600(320mm discs),I now have them on my tls 320mm discs :)

This might be a bit late in the day for you, but I've just came across this, buried in the 'puter!  It may be useful to others?  ;)

These are the same diameter (220mm) as Slabbie rear discs, but slightly thinner:

    '96 - '07 GSXR 750

    '01 - '07 GSXR 1000

    '03 - '07 SV 650/1000

    '97 - '03  TL & TLR 1000 ;)

    Plus, on a 240mm dia. (new hanger 'tho), the following;

    '88 - '94 GSXR750

    '89 - '94 GSXR1100

    Srad600 and gsxr600k1-k7 are also 220mm.

     mk1/2 bandit600,bandit750,mk1/2 bandit 1200,rf600/900,89-98 gsxr1100k-wv,gsxr600wn/wp,inazuma 400/750/1200,gs1200ss,gsx1400 and mk1 busa are also 240mm.

Probably a stupid question .. Do all those disks have the same bolt center diameter?

    Yep,all the same :)

Ah, good info. I was looking for this cos I've got a set of empty b6 cases I'm planning on using for a similar purpose.

Is the output shaft the same length on the oil boiler motors also? Would be handy if I was able to plan out chain runs etc.

600 are long stroke(as are the 400/650/750),so are slightly taller than the short stroke 750.

    The 89 gsxr1100k has a shorter output/countershaft,than all the other oil-cooled engines :)

FBOAB told me that 750 and 1100 motors have different numbers of cooling fins, which makes sense to me, and is a good way to guesstimate the height of these engines relative to each other. It can be seen clearly from the pics above, this is true.

Short stroke are 11fins,400/600/750 long stroke are 12 fins,1052/1127/56/57 are 14 fins :)

    Hi All,

Will a set of Bandit 1200 cams fit into a Slingshot GSXR1100 engine ? Looking at getting a spare set of cams to re-grind and not many GSXR1100 cams seem to come on to the market. Advice appreciated.

    Thanks

    What Gsxr1100 do you have?

    As 1100k/l are screw/locknut and 1100m/n are shim heads. If 11m/n,then b12 cams won't fit :)

.................which will weigh more than the bike LOL!

The headers are not heavy,it is the stock cans that weigh abit(and restrictive on the 1100). But I got round that by fitting harpoon cans/link pipes(fireblade on the right and RC30 on the left. Sadly, haven't got these anymore.) :)

Yes. I had a 750m with an 1127 motor and K1 headers. The exhaust fouled the belly pan after the collectors. I bit of minor trimming sorted that. A 750 motor will cause a much bigger clearance problem

There isn't much of a height difference between the long stroke 600/750 and the 1052/1127/1156 and 1157. There is only a few mm difference in height.

This is my old gsxr1100k with a 90 gsxr750l micron 4-1 system. All I had to do,was shave a bit off of the sump plug ☺️

As can be seen in the pics, rod length difference is only 7.5mm.

    Hi and welcome back.

Marketplace will be accessible to you after you make 50 posts.

About the 85/86 question... isn't the front wheel spindle or something like that a larger diameter on later bikes? An expert will be along soon.

    Both are 15mm,along with the 1100g ☺️

  9. Main thing to do is change the carbs. They are 32mm cvk keihins(same as the gs1200ss and similar to the bandit 600/750 cvr32).
Wheels are the same as the gs1200ss,b12,rf900,gsxr750wr/ws and gsxr1100ws-wv.
Forks are similar to gs1200ss, b12 and rf900.(caliper spacing is different iirc because of the brembo calipers)
Discs are the same as the b12,gs1200ss and rf900.

To the gsx750w,I am fitting a b12 rwu front end,gsxr750l wheels,tl1000s 4pot tokicos,gsxr1100k engine,bst36ss cv's on the stock airbox and either the gsxr1100k 4-2-2 system(different cans) or gsxr750l micron 4-1 system. It already has gsx1400 jack up plates and chinese shocks(which work really well) :)
