  1. Chees guys,

So would need a set of smaller bearings and a new sleeve?

    Cool!

Only down side it going to make my back tyre look as skinny, as a Rude Boy's Tie!

Will possibly get outbid but at least I'll find market price,

Mmm ! Wonder how often do they come up for sale?

    Or,

Would it be better to get new one with drag style adjusters?

    Mmm.......!

I have done it, found you can skid the front tire at 35 mph if you're not careful

I'm getting confused.  Here you are asking about the GS550 wheels; in another thread you said they were worn out and you wanted to run wheels left over from your slab-side project.  Most later multi-piston calipers don't have enough clearance for spoke wheels.  There a number of dual disk, but non-floating and single piston, which you could easily use.  If you want to run the slab-side wheels, should be easy to run complete slab-side front end.  Maybe another member has run an interesting setup you want to use.

Sorry for the confusion, but at this stage of a build I get so many  different ideas, and change lanes quite often, I have limited access to, engineering, tools, workshops or friends, so have to rely on part compatability,, (Frankinstien approach, or is it Fronkinsteen )

Two major problems with the slabside front end:

Not going to start altering a set of 1986 GsXr 1100 yokes. I think that would be crazy,

The other is it would mean I would not be able to fit wheels that I like, I have only got a set of 3 spoke CMA wheel for the slabby, and I wasn't that keen on them when they were fitted to the slabby one of the reasons i swapped them out for The CBr wheels.

    Don't worry you'll catch up!

  4. Starting a Gs 550 project,

Currently on a set of spoked wheels that are past there best.

Got some left overs from my slabby project.

    So!;

Will slabside yokes fit Gs 550 with just a bearing change?

Will a slabside rear wheel fit in original Gs swingarm?

Also got a 4.5 slingshot rear wheel as a possible.

  5. Not usd yokes, granted, but this is my non welding solution to slabby lock stop

  6. Thinking of changing the seat on my gsxr 1100 86

I have Got a 1100 slabby big long seat,

Was wanting to get some stuff of fiberman

And my big long seat is not compatible with what I want I could use some roll mat but wanting to retain some comfort I thought about using a 750 front seat pad

I know that 750 has a split seat and if I move the rear mount from the back to the front on the 1100 I should be able to use this seat.

I have seen seat which look right but are for 88 to 90 seats.

was wondering what seats I can get to  fit with the least hassle will slingshot seat fit will srad seat pad fit, has anyone got experience of seat swapping.
