  1. You are both right of course........ but, probably be the only street efe you will see with them fitted !

Currently toying with another oil cooler setup , I  have a 10 row mocal type one in stock , just ordered some an-6 weld ons and looking at chinese mounting brackets and fitting kit , all in should cost less than a £100.

Btw , got a V&H pro system for my kat coming too , watch this space , lol.

Btw , how do I  tell if they are 89 or 90 spec ?

  3. Always something to do , so decided to try some Star cycle headers I acquired recently along with a V&H street meg.

Looks pretty cool , but the stock oil cooler is gonna be in the way .

Also too k the front end out to replace the fork seals and dust covers.

  4. Well , the running got progressively worse so back to the drawing board. Cyl2 seemed to have a problem so swapped no.1 and 2 plugs , ht caps etc to no avail. So off with the tank , checked coil conections , ht was really strong on cranking. So checked compressions ,all even . New plugs , checked fuel into carbs and fresh fuel in a bottle. Fired up , a bit fluffy then as it warmed up was spot on !

So very happy , might even book her in for an mot at last.

  6. I  am using black plastic washers under the cap heads so as not to damage the fresh powder coat , so I  don't want to over tighten them.

    Nice bike!

Why to put thread locker on case cover screws?

  7. Slow progress,  but at last the flywheel is on tight and the generator cover back on with the new bolts loosely fitted , gotta thread lock them before I tighten them.

  8. Sounds like you have got a butterfly the wrong way round , or if they are cv carbs , a split or leaking  diaphragm maybe . Sticking float or poorly set float heights over fuelling and revving , or a massive air leak on  a carb runner ?

Only needs to hang one carb up to make all 4 rev.

You gotta be happy with that.  Your old man did a great job on that rear unit.

Yeah , he has made a bonnet and bootlid for my mk2 cortina,  and a  complete one piece tailpiece for my zrx kwak amongst many things in the past.

  10. I recently bought a katana gsx1100,  a bit modified , a bit original.

There were a few things that needed addressing,  rear height , wound the yss rear shocks up as high as they would go.

No indicators , a work in progress but getting there.

And stock rear mudguard too long , so rather than chop a 150 quids worth of rear muddie I got my dad to make a fibreglass shorty the same as the jap ones made of cf.

Btw , my dad , now 90 , made parts for Concorde et al at British aerospace for 30 years .

    Hope you like.

How about I make all the wires the same colour?

Looks like you just have to join the power wires to the consumer wires. I know these classic bikes are easy to nick , but I personally wouldn't make it any easier lol.

Maybe a seperate circuit breaker else where operated by a key perhaps ....
