Turbo you've chosen will have the wrong seals for a draw through system.

Think why virtually every first induction system developed in the last 30 years has been blow through.

Thanks Dupersunc, I used to have a Mr turbo GSX1100E and for the love of me cannot remember what turbo it was running, But Speaking to the Guys at work ( R&D Department of a well known Diesel engine manufacturer) we have decided on a  Blow through system with a remote airbox ( bike will be used as a daily ) so as to keep water ingress away from the turbo inlet. Suppose thats why its called development

  2. Pro's and con's, power ,torque ,installation and lag . Peoples thoughts and experiences. Nearly made up my mind , Draw through system  possibly running hybrid  ford ecoboost  X27 280 turbo these are rated at 280 Brake ( looking for 220-230 lag free bhp,  so turbo might still be to big ) but are based on the 1.5 ford turbo so are nice and small to reduce lag. Did think about a hybrid unit from the 1.0 Ecoboost rated at 220 bhp, But after a few talks with the professionals this was deemed possibility to small for the upper rev range.

Induction wise 48-50 mm BMW throttle body with a possible second injector , Microsquirt ecu, Custom plenum and stainless headers. Mapper said hes happy to map a car, but is not getting on the back of a f"""""ging bike !!!

Cams redialled for bottom end /midrange

    1216 Big bore Bandit engine,

I have a 1986 GSX 750 es which has been in my shed for 15 yrs . I now want it back on the road. Released the cylinders without issue and hooked up a battery; the starter solonoid gave a reliable click but nothing from the starter motor. Stripped down to this and managed to release so was getting some action.  Note that indicators and headlights worked at this point too.

Put back in the shed for 2 weeks due to weather and on checking yesterday (with freshly charged battery) we now get no click from the solonoid. We have replaced the solonoid with a new one just in case and same issue.

When we press the starter switch we get a whine noise from the coil assembly but nothing else. Headlights and indicators also no longer work (Neutral indicator on the Dashboard does work though and the rev counter spikes then settles when ignition first turned)

Ignition and starter fuses have been checked.

Any thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.

Looked at one last week with the intention of sliding a turbo Bandit lump into it. missed it

I use gen 1 busa rods & pistons with 2mm spacer plate, comp was just less than 8 to 1 no problem with a tight cam chain on mk1 b12 engine. TDO4L turbo making 260hp at 16psi.

Would like to know more about this setup, I have been thinking along the same lines. Where did you get the Spacer plate ?

  5. Hi everyone , while im waiting on a decent frame/chassis ive been busy beavering away on forced induction engine spec. I have a question about busa rods into the oil cooled 1052-1200 series engine. I know the pistons fit bring the spec to 1216 with  boost ready low compression. My question is will the rods fit too? And if they do what is known about the fitment ?

    Cheers inadvance

  6. Dying to start my new build  been looking for a frame or chassis for a while . Found a sweet chassis, everything I need to start my build. . It is 92 750 frame with k4 forks and slingshot arm. K series shock and wheels. 89 1100 front fairing, 92 750 tail and tank. Front subframe is modified to fit newer frame and k series steering damper. Frame is modified to fit 1100 engine.  Problem though its in Finland.......... Anyone driving passed Finland soon...

  7. Hi everyone I'm looking to build a charged ( turbo or Supercharged ) bike I'm interested  to see what power and basic specs everyone is running. If people  are interested could they or would they mind posting what power and torque they are running. With basic engine spec ( don't go into to much detail if you don't want ).  Graphs would be a nice  touch.

    Thanks in advance,

Take some time looking through the projects section.....saves the people who’ve already taken the time to post there shenanigans from typing it all again.....

It´s not so difficult  to control big low end torque if you have done intake system right.

I have Eaton M62 in my 1327cc EFE and it´s fun to ride from low revs to high revs (222 rwhp and 202 rwNm).

M62 of a merc, have you got or willing to divulge anymore info, Build thread might be nice :-)

Hi my pal runs a 1200 bandit motor in a 750 wn frame they do go in. He's fitted a gsxr 400 tank on it and it looks just like it was made for the job. Guy Martin's turbo runs the 750 w frame.

How hard was it to fit, new mounts etc
