  1. What is the actual name of the half moon rubbers as I get f all when I search?
  2. Cmsnl prices are ridiculous for everything. I’ll try one of the others. Cheers.
  3. Thanks for that. I think the gasket on the bike must be the cometic type, as it is as you describe. Any idea where I can get the rubbers?
  4. I forgot about the half moon rubbers. Can’t they be reused with a bit too f silicon if they haven’t totally hardened? The gasket I received has 4 holes larger than the rest, presumably for the locating dowels which if there are only 2 might suggest the gasket is usable either way round but it doesn’t look exactly the same either side.
  5. Hopefully that is my question answered. Four of the holes are bigger than the others and I thought I remembered some seals for these ? I am getting on a bit so maybe not
  6. Just noticed oil is weeping from the rocker cover gasket all around the front half or so. I have bought a replacement (Athena)available from wemoto but it doesn’t come with the 4 sealing washers I vaguely remember from the last time I fit ted a new gasket and which are also mentioned in the Haynes manual. Are these strictly necessary and if so what size and material are they? I haven’t taken the cover off yet so just wanted to have everything needed together to do the job quickly.
  7. Ah, fair enough. I obviously misunderstood the issue.
  8. I just cut a small piece out of the lever to make the slot bigger. Works perfectly.
  9. Just for info in case anyone is looking? Recently ordered air box to carb rubbers for my 79 GSX1100et from this outfit. https://www.cruzinimage.net/category/item/itemgenre/motorcycle/suzuki/carb-insulators-suzuki/ Even with delivery to Poland I thought the price was good and they fit perfectly.
  10. Thanks folks. Seem to be available on the robinsonsfoundry site. Expensive though!
  11. I need to get a hold of some clutch plates. Will any dealer be able to supply OEM plates and how would you know if they supplied aftermarket ones?
  12. Mine is at 900 so not sure it makes much difference. It’s obviously something that affects bike when running as I can easily get neutral with engine off
  13. Chain is fine I checked and adjust regularly. Looks like I’ll have to start looking at the clutch components.
  14. Changed to 10w40 mineral oil, adjusted clutch as per the manual and now clunkier and worse than ever to get into gear. Had no problems changing whilst in motion before but now it’s dreadful. Looks like I’ll just have to keep fiddling. Maybe my bike likes the higher viscosity oil?
  15. Turns out my problem was old and rusty/dirty electrical connections. Found loads and replaces all over the bike. Done the ref/rec mod as suggested and the old girl is now charging like the light brigade! Hopefully she’ll last longer though. thanks for all the suggestions and assistance.
  16. Can I do the suggested mod with the existing reg/rec as I had it checked and it’s fine.
  17. Sorted. Thanks. Turns out my phone is storing reduced resolution images and storing originals in the cloud! Who knew.
  18. Thanks for all the info. I should be able to sort something out now. I usually try for direct fit replacements as I have no facilities and limited tools for doing things.
  19. In Poland we have to have lights on all the time so I shouldn’t have the overheating problem? When you say any decent modern rectifier would that involve some jiggery pokery when mounting it or do you know of any that will mount directly with no mods?
  20. Same problem with this one? Maybe it’s just my phone. I’ll try later on my laptop to see if it’s any better. Thanks for taking the time to help out. Cheers
  21. When you say bypass do you mean don’t connect the wire to the light switch and run it to the reg/rec?
  22. Why is there a wire going to the light switch?
