  1. Just wondering if there's anything you guys have tried to shave weight? I have already shaved parts of the frame, (steering stops, foot peg mounts, brackets, etc.) And removed unused parts of the fairing bracket like the turn signal mounts. Also stripped wire harness of unused wires, using modern gsxr rims and forks, bars. Not comfortable with removing the top frame brace or kickstand and mount. Was thinking more about the generator and starter to start with. Is there any other models (like a bandit 600) that is compatible? Sprocket cover ,Valve cover, or other bolt on things? What are road race guys doing? It is drag bike, but I would like to keep a headlight and taillight.

I have heard about using a 750 starter clutch but not sure. And using a 93-95 zx7 headlight.

Is it worth getting frame modified to accept a different subframe?

  2. Would you have to rejet the carb?  And I see the room it takes up and added weight.

takes up volume that could be fuel and b) it doesn't burn so is taking up space........

    Good point.

    Very clean bike no class!

  3.  Curious if anyone has a water - water/alcohol injection setup. Have always seen them available bet never saw one in action. Water only or 50/50 alcohol mix? Very pricey for the setup.

I know nitrous guys are big with them, any advantage over timing retard? Can you keep more timing and spray the water for more power?

    Pictures are very welcome!

  4. Some guys get away with stock rods ups to 300hp (not recommended ) Then they will use water-cooled rods or gen 1 Busa rods, but if its track only , get Carillos - very strong for anything over 250 hp and worth the price, which is bullshit since you can get 8  rods for a chevy for less. I think Crower still makes oil cooled rods to. Have not had good luck with Falicon rods. Worry more about doing a rocker head conversion.

    - IMO by engine assembly special care have to taken to good sealing around oil channel in cyl.block(red arrows) , any internal oil leak in direction to crankshaft can cause reduced amount of already reduced oil feed directed to cyl.head lubrication loop.

Genius! Wondering if that could of been a problem for me when using a thick copper gasket.

-btw ,  just for example very high reving ZXR400L have just one external oil hose dedicated for lubrication of two camshaft and 16 rocker-arms  which connect main oil gallery with cyl.head.

Does it take less oil/lubrication when it is shim under bucket compared to rocker head?

Bible says oil cooling circuit 72psi / lubrication circuit 101 psi.

Any benefit to using a bandit 1200 oil pump since they are now high/high pressure compared to high/low Gsxr? Will it help oil cooling? And is it even compatible ?

  7. Next time I go to my storage unit I will take pictures of the $600 billet web cams that got destroyed because I didn't think I needed it before either. Theories are interesting, but I have never seen anyone install then remove a top end oiler kit because it failed or damaged the cams/head.

Nothing hidden - all was visible for all to see! Nothing bling, and nothing there that didn't serve a purpose! It's not a competition bike - if you read the statement correctly - its a STREET BIKE ie. MOT'd, Tax'd and Tested - when i'm bothered! And the last statement proves you don't know it and that it is still running without any replacement parts although it is currently not in max. output configuration!

    (y)(y)(y)

My bike without them = squeaky cams. But only needed with aftermarket studs and overbore where it cuts into oil passage on the cases.
