  1. when i did mine (gsxr) i was advised that i needed a return of at min 8mm id as not to restrict flow,   being a shed scrounger i rummaged about in my junk  and come up with this that screws into the fuel level sender hole ( i know you may not have this fitting in your tank)

been good as gold, i can adjust fuel pressure right down to just about 0 on the gauge so i guess its not restrictive :tu

  2. hey guys,

been chimping around on the gsxr, putting on some miles whilst ironing out a few bugs etc and  i guess its long overdue to look at getting some sort of wideband to see whats actually going on in there

anyone using the AEM X-series available on that site ??  good or bad ??

also,  iv been advised that my stubby little exhaust pipe isnt going to be any good and ill need to add some length to that in order to get a proper reading, is there a min length needed ??

    cheers  :tu

  3. prob not remotely the same reason but we used to do a similar thing to old rover v8 engines, the spindles are hollow and used to get sludgy oil in them but are capped with a small core type plug, we used to knock out the plug, clean out the crud then cap the spindle with bolts

  4. hey guys,

mates just bought a mk2 1200 with less than 3000 miles on the clock - its been sat since it was a couple of years old and has never been mot'd lol !!

just cleaning out the un-surprisingly grotty carbs and the mixture screws are currently varying between 1.5  to 4 turns out xD

does anyone know what the standard setting should be ??

    cheers  :tu

  5. cheers for advice fellas,  the new battery sorted the problem,

  6. whats the best way of mounting an aftermarket cooler on a slingy ?

mines just cracked somewhere and is now merrily dripping oil on the floor !!!!

i vaguely recall reading something about rubber mounting them, cant remember for sure....its entirely possible i may have dreamt it !!!!!

anyhow, iv ordered a new cooler but  has anyone tried using something like those little exhaust mounting rubbers, the round/barrel shapped ones with an m8 stud on each end, to mount the cooler bracket to the frame ??

    :)

  7. i do actually have a .........spare wire :$ near the reg/rec area,

its a blue/green with with a small resistor / diode looking thing on the end and no apparent place for it to go to,

in my defence i didnt strip the bike so have no idea what its for/where it goes lol !!!!!

Myself and rossco May well make an appearance down there.

if you happen to pass a snotty ole blue slingy at side of the road, most likely either on fire or  surrounded by bits , please dont stop to point/laugh/take the piss....it'l just be another day in the life of being a Chris  xD

  9. we got the EF running again today ,

    eaOqwkf.jpg

    02SdqYo.jpg

apart from a few little niggles it seems to be running well,

but it appears to be overcharging somewhat,  i have 14(ish) volts at 1500rpm then 15.5v  at around 3000rpm

the battery warning light on dash is also lit,  the bike already has an aftermarket reg'rec unit (electrix iirc),

the bikes battery is fucked so we had it starting  of a jump pack , then running on its own - would/could a weak battery case those symptoms ??

    cheers  :tu

just couldn't find a list to what bikes used what bore size in order to get a seal kit  (cheers Lachie04 (y))

annoying as fuck !! was fine on Monday, yesterday went to pull in the lever whilst moving bike out of shed and it didn't spring back out as usual.....was sort of loose and floppy :$,  stripped the cylinder down expecting to find corrosion or other general grot and it was clean as a whistle

do the seals suddenly just swell up and get sticky ??   fluid was changed only about a month ago and all has been fine until yesterday.........

    :)

  12. hi guys,

my brake master cylinder is shot, problem is i dont know what its off and all the repair kits listed on that site only show whats bikes they are for, not any sizes,

typically iv no idea what mine come off originally !!!!

its a Nissin 14mm remote res master - anyone know what used those so i can source a seal kit ?

i do also have another  Nissin remote resni could use,  but in 5/8th's, again, any clues to origin so i can obtain a seal kit  ?

    cheers all  :tu
