  1. I've done really well so far bargain wise, the rolling frame was £250 from fatblokeonbandit already fitted with the banana swingarm and usd forks and came with a box of bits then Engine £51 Loom and CDI £53 Coils £12 BSR36 Carbs £48 Switchgear £18 Pegs, hangers, brake and gear change £17 Downpipes £50
  2. Not done much more on this but my bargain hunting skills came into play again when i saw a set of bst36s on the bay advertised as running rich even after cleaning, got them for £27 posted and these are not clean in my book
  3. Found this that might be useful too http://litetek.co/Guide_USD_ForkDatabase.html
  4. I did that to the first one and threadlocked it in place then decided it was quicker to just crush them in the vice
  5. No rattles or knocking , popped and banged a bit but its on open carbs and no end can , very happy boy
  6. Tatty powerscreen oil cooler coz that's all i had to hand , filled it with oil, pulled tbe leads and cranked it for about 10 secs 3 times to get some oil around the top end hooked up a car battery and gave each carb a squirt of easy start ............ nothing. Pulled a plug, no spark, checked one on tbe other coil, weak spark . Cleaned the coil terminals, cleaned the earth and wiggled the clips on the battery , tried again a few pops , promising i thought, realised i didn't have the choke out pulled it out pressed the button and vrooooom its alive!
  7. Then fitted the titanium downpipes from a gsxr 1000 , people say they fit with a bit of brute force, I'd say a lot of brute force
  8. Bit of redneck engineering on the PAIRS pipes, cut them off and flattened them in the Vice for a quick fix
  9. I'll try and get them blanked off then, i was gonna cut the pipes off and weld up the hole in the middle as a quick fix
  10. Nearly ready to try and fire this up, re the PAIRS system, will it still run ok without it blanked off ?
  11. Cheers viz , I'd assumed a coil is pretty much a coil and as they're from the same bloodline, sold as working £12
  12. I've got hold of a cheap pair of coils from a 750 / 1100 slingshot, they're different part numbers but will they work on a B12 motor ?
  13. Always liked the look of the blue/gold spot calipers on them
  14. Assistant mechanic very happy too and wanted to accept your offer Garry
  15. Made friends with the bandit motor again the crack i thought i saw was a flaw in the casting but i did break the speedo trigger thing on the sprocket so that was where the piece of metal came from anyway its now in the frame
  16. Um how can i put it. NO ! I totally blame you for calling the bloody thing number 13
  17. Lol vultures , I'll have a look at it tomorrow, if it's cracked ,cases are cheap enough on the bay I'll get another set
  18. Lol I work nights and although that gives me all day to do what I want there's never anyone around to lend a hand coz they're all at work , so I've learnt to do things on my own, just lost my rag with this one
  19. Sometimes I hate bike building, found a couple of snapped exhaust studs while I was looking over the engine and thought, i'll drill them out before I put it in the frame , all went well, no snapped drill bits so I thought I'll put it in the frame, it'll only take half an hour , that's where I should've packed up and left it, laid the engine on its side on a couple of blocks, got the frame over it and it got stuck, a little wiggle will sort that, nope, bit more of a wiggle, nope shake the fuck out of it nope !!! Admittedly I still had the forks and swinger plus wheels in place but I've done it several times before on a couple of B6 and a couple Kwak motors but this one was having non of it Soooooooooo the red mist came down, I flipped the frame across the patio, the engine fell out breaking a couple fins, then I picked up the engine and threw it into the shed where it landed on my trolley jack and may have cracked the cases, but at the moment I really couldn't give 2 shits if I have
