  3. Hi - I got away with 3 strong and 3 standard springs alternating pattern obviously, much more usable and its not slipped - touch wood.
  4. Making a start in a weeks time - will take some photos then, photos under the dust cover in the garage would not be great :-)
  5. Hi All - New to this forum so hello all. I’ve a 1988 GSX 1100 EG I bought new in 1988- Yes one owner. It’s been hiding at the back of the garage for 3 years while I've been doing up an old house. It’s come time to get it back shredding tyres. As I said its one owner, it’s got a Wiesco 1228 conversion, gas flowed head, Dyna coils, Cobra stainless exhaust (plus alternate silencer for MOT days) and the original carbs were re-jetted/fettled and airbox removed with V&H filters at "V&M" racing. Chassis is a Maxton rear shock (white power one I had was too short) and Maxton reworked forks with the anti-dive disabled. Cosmetically, it has engine bars, M&P rear mudguard eliminator and standard apart from that. This was all done years ago and its done very few miles over the last 12 years with kids and houses (44k in total). I need to get it all running and healthy again as I don't know if I can ride it any more with my dodgy knees so this year is decision time. I use a 100 VStrom for work Anyway....... What I’m after is advise on post storage startup. I have new oil and filter ready to fit. A new battery. My plan is rinse out fuel tank. Take out plugs and put some oil in the cylinders and see if it will turn over. If it will then 5 litres of fresh super unleaded and redex will be put in fingers crossed and see if she starts. If she runs then let her get hot, change the oil/filter (need exhaust removal with these down pipes - always been a pain) then go on and inspect fuel lines brakes etc. and see if they are ok. Wash and polish it then get an MOT and see how I go from there. Anything I’ve missed ? - Cheers !
