Dixie Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Morning All, I've just noticed that I haven't got a steering lock fitted to my 750 GS, or I'm getting blinder as I get older. Can someone post a pic on where it is located please. Quote
TonyC Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 On the early ones it's bolted to the steering head/bottom yoke LHS, but some very late ones had it operated by the ignition key IIRC! Tony Quote
TonyC Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I have re-consulted my ageing brain on this one - the steering lock on the GS750 should be on the RHS of the bike and bolts up underneath the bottom yoke so the pin comes up through the yoke when engaged. The ignition lock operated one was on a late GS550 that I had. It's possible that you could have no lock if the bike doesn't have the original/correct yokes on it. Tony Quote
gs7_11 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 As TonyC says, later bikes have an ignition key type steering lock. Mine does. However OP's bike looks earlier so would have had a bottom yoke mounted one .........easily unscrewed, if it's not there. Quote
Dixie Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 Hi All Good stuff, I've had a good luck and found where it bolts into position from underneath, there's definitely not one built into the ignition. Thanks for your help as always Quote
