Clank when starting Gsxr 1100 1986

Developed the all mighty clank when prodding the start button, I think it may be the starter clutch, how big a job is it and is there an upgrade?

It will probably be the bolts come undone, they do it if not locktighted, torqued up or been removed recently... whip the cover off and have a look, if your lucky you can remove it clean the taper up and bash it back on,

When starts behaving strangely or make noise, you should inspect the starter clutch. Starter clutch on the first models are weak and will fail sooner or later. It was upgraded later.
