Gunny Hartman Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Hi guys new member here, i own a GSX750w (Inazuma) retro and got to say i'm quite pleased with it, my only gripe really is that it could do with more mid range so i was thinking about a big bore kit, do you guys know of any that are still produced? Oh it's got the 18mm small end bearings!... Quote
Oilyspanner Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 (edited) Easy to put an 1127 or 1156 engine in there, it always costs a fair bit to buy the big bore kit, bore the liners and buy all the gaskets. GSX1100F engines can often be bought for decent money and they have far more 'go' than a big bored 750. Welcome to the site too - almost forgot ! Edited August 28, 2016 by Oilyspanner Quote
Gunny Hartman Posted August 28, 2016 Author Posted August 28, 2016 Cheers, thanks for that info but i'd rather go with a big bore for insurance reasons if you get my drift!... Quote
Oilyspanner Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 If you can find a kit, a 2mm bore increase will give 793cc -any for the long stroke 750s should be fine. It's a shame that the 73mm pistons from the short stroke 750s won't fit - gudgeon pin 2mm bigger, like 1100s. Quote
Gunny Hartman Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Thanks very much for the info, i know fitting a bigger engine would be easier but insurance companies try to put up the prices if you even have an aftermarket pipe. You are right, kits for oil cooled motors are getting rare!.. Quote
