SteveXFR Posted Wednesday at 09:55 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:55 AM I'm replacing the dead TCI ignition unit in my 4 cylinder 1982 GS500EZ (GS550EZ import with smaller bore) and I'm a bit unsure about fitting the crank pickup assembly. The instructions for the new parts are based on the points ignition model. Could anyone give me some advice please? I've attached a couple photos of the new and old parts together (the smaller one without advance is new) http://www.boyerbransden.com/pdf/KIT00090.pdf Quote
Duckndive Posted Wednesday at 10:24 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:24 AM You need to remove all the original ignition components from the timing back plate on the bike and the original trigger , bob weights and springs from the advance retard unit shown in your pic,s on right and bottom then replace with the new parts as per the instruction's etc 1 Quote
SteveXFR Posted Wednesday at 11:11 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:11 AM Thanks @DuckndiveI see now. I couldn't work out how those parts came off the back plate, I just needed to pull a bit harder. Quote
