Motovalet Posted August 7 Posted August 7 So, still not having any luck finding a decent priced CDI for my GSX550ES. I’ve noticed that the 750ES uses a CDI with exactly the same spade terminals in the same pattern and the 550 connectors plug right on in. I’ve also noted the 750 uses two pick ups just like the 550! Should I try it and see if it works, what’s the worst outcome? The curve can’t be too dissimilar and they both redline more or less the same. Would it work better with the 750 pick ups and rotor with associated wiring to the CDI?? Quote
Dezza Posted August 8 Posted August 8 If you can find access online to pdfs of the genuine Suzuki manuals, these give the advance/retard and rev limiter data. If these are the same or very similar for both bikes then it should work. Otherwise, an aftermarket cdi such as an ignatec would probably be a cheaper option than NOS OEM or eb@y chancers thinking 40 year old 2nd hand bike bits are worth more than gold. Quote
