Gacataki Posted July 9 Share Posted July 9 Hi all, Please help. i took delivery os 1983 GS850 today. The bike has been standing for a long time, and according to the prevoius owner, it was 'running perfectly when parked'. Yeah right. After checking oil etc. and charging the battery, it will not start. I removed all 4 spark plugs to check spark and found that 1 and 4 are good, but 2 and 3 only spark once, as you release the starter button. While the moter is turning 2 and 3 are dead, but emit one spark each as the button is released. I considered swapping coils over to see if the problem moves with, or something. The pickups look clean. Wiring is not good. Any ideas please. Quote Link to comment
