New Member/ 1982 GS750t start problems

Recommended Posts

Hi new member here. I have a 1982 Suzuki GS750t I picked up and have been going through. It has a rebuilt top end, bored over 1mm with NOS pistons and rings. Dynojet carb kit with k&n pods, dynatech ignition, and it has the stock exhaust. The carbs are balanced and idles around 1100 but sometimes I have trouble starting it after I ride somewhere and let it cool down. I am unsure what it is. Should I put a 4 into 1 on it and rejet the carbs? The h pipe on the stock exhaust does have some pinholes so I plan to replace it unsure if I should go 4 into 1 or a cleaner stock pipe. Thank you hope to get some help with this problem I am having.

I think I would start with the basics. Check the plugs, points, timing, plug leads and caps. Then strip and clean the carbs, checking the jet sizes as you do. Then do a quick compression test.

Once you have done that you will probably have more questions, if you don't find the problem.

Best of luck
