82gs750t Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Hi new member here. I have a 1982 Suzuki GS750t I picked up and have been going through. It has a rebuilt top end, bored over 1mm with NOS pistons and rings. Dynojet carb kit with k&n pods, dynatech ignition, and it has the stock exhaust. The carbs are balanced and idles around 1100 but sometimes I have trouble starting it after I ride somewhere and let it cool down. I am unsure what it is. Should I put a 4 into 1 on it and rejet the carbs? The h pipe on the stock exhaust does have some pinholes so I plan to replace it unsure if I should go 4 into 1 or a cleaner stock pipe. Thank you hope to get some help with this problem I am having. Quote
andyroach Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 I think I would start with the basics. Check the plugs, points, timing, plug leads and caps. Then strip and clean the carbs, checking the jet sizes as you do. Then do a quick compression test. Once you have done that you will probably have more questions, if you don't find the problem. Best of luck Quote
PanzerWomble Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 It's fuel , pilot jets as they control the starting circuit, or the choke not working 100%most likely. If it starts ok when hot , and revs out fine when its going it points to those , rather than the exhaust. valve clearances etc etc . Quote
