Jpich85 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) I'm getting the frame ready for powder coating and think I've noticed two cracks in the welds that hold the rear shock cross member thingy on, there on the under side, not sure what's best to do so thought I'd ask you guys. I thought maybe drilling out the end of the cracks then using a cutting disc cut into them a little then go over it with the tig? Any help would be great Cheers Edited October 21, 2020 by Jpich85 Quote
dupersunc Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Clean it up to get as much oil and contaminants off as you can. grind out the cracke with a die grinder and sand the area 3-4mm around the crack to remove the anodizing. I would then preheat the area with a gas torch to get some heat into the frame before welding. Quote
Jpich85 Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 Nice thanks mate I appreciate that, I'm not 100% sure it's a crack but I think it is especially with it being on the other side, I guess it needs sorting though otherwise if the frame no good then it's a waste spending all my time building the thing lol Quote
