Harry66 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi all,First post. Hopefully not a really dumb question.Bought a 750H from a bloke who stored it for 10 years. Had someone Ultrasonic the carbs and service it. Tank was drained for storage, and I drained again after first fuel. Looks fine.Did a track day at Cadwell PS event. Ran ok. This weekend dropped it putting on paddock stand (muppet). It was a bit of bigger to start, but then ran ok. Took for run today. After a short distance lost power, like running on 3. Nursed it home. #4 exhaust not as hot as others. Fuel pissing out of vent pipe between 3 and 4 carb, drain of carb 4 (seemed odd) and bottom of airbox.Any thoughts? or carbs out? Thanks Harry Quote
Fula28 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Carb float seat on that no,4 pot either tap the carb with screwdriver handle (plastic) or pull em out again check seat, they do that if dropped or left a long while, just needs releasing . Overfueling is due to it not shutting off. 1 Quote
Harry66 Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Cheers mate. Will try gentle percussion then. Thank you! Quote
Katana Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 if its not the seat it will be the oring under the brass bowl the float valve sits in they go hard and let fuel past Quote
Harry66 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 Thanks. Started ok after gentle tap. Running on 4. A bit smokey which I guess due to a lot of unburnt fuel in there? Will take it out tomorrow to blow out.the fuel tap has on, res and pri. When do I use pri? Plus, Does this mean it is import?cheers. Quote
teltwosheds Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Pri is for prime. the tap pushes a tang onto the diaphragm thus allowing free flow of fuel ;-) Mostly used when the bike has been standing for a while, or just refilled after running out of fuel. HI :-) Quote
p4ddy Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I wish i was as lucky as you. Mine was a scored barrel so it was a strip down rather than just a little 'tap' with a screw driver handle. Quote
Harry66 Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Ouch. I was lucky then! Runs ok now. A bit lumpy, needs an Italian tune. Quote
