  1. Hello all, this is just a place for me to log my progress when building my bike. i will be honest i dont even know how to reffer to it a its a bit of a frankenstien now XD ill give the back story, then as i progress i will post updates later. im part way through this project i will refrain from creating any further topics but instead will post in here (keeps things clean) it started out as a GSX600f. when i got it it was in a sorry state, someone had previously loved it enough to give it a horriffic paint job but it had been laid up for a good few years in a back garden slowly being scavenged for little bits for other bikes. i got it for an absolute steal & got it home within an hour had it runnung. last years project was getting it road worthy again and get rid of that aweful paint job. plus side stem bearing and it flew through MOT. wrapped it in matte black. two problems solved by this point my wife who never wanted to ride on the back finally did and got bitten by the bug...hard, loves the bike wants to be on it all the time. i spent hours rebuilding the carbs, and i mean hours. running ok.....ish sometimes i could get a day of riding out of it fine other days it would jump around on which cylinder wanted to fire or not. found out that the 600 motor in it was cooked, low compression on cy1 & 4. hopped online found a forks bent crashed bandit 1200 16k mi 2004 for £300 had it delivered whole bike again fueld the carbs fired right up WIN! dropped the engine and loom, direct swap into the GSXF frame....almost had to manually wire the loom to work with the GSXF clocks and the cam cover needed modifying to clear the frame but it worked well. it absolutely changed the bike we loved it, went on three rides total but by this time riding season was well and truly over so one last ride out to squires and into the shed for winter. this is when i got the oppertunity to buy a turbo kit for a very good price, now this is an absolute chance on my part ive never wrenched on bike engines before but i do like a challenge and lets face it with the very low money i have invested in the bike its worth it just in in learning a few lessons and potentially having a very fun bike at the end of it. if not? ive got enough spares to build it back to stock anyway
  2. First post, Hi all, so I happened to pickup a seized GSX600F engine for $50, and I’m in the middle of doing a rebuild. So far everything has been going great, found out engine seized because of a stuck gear in the starter assembly, and I’m currently waiting for a good deal on some 91 gsxr750 barrels and pistons/rods. With plans to eventually turbocharge it. But that’s not what I’m asking here. I’m planning on doing a small experiment by changing either the stock oil cooler over to a oil to water cooler, or trimming off some of the air cooling fins on the barrels to then create a box/passages that I can fill with coolant, then run a separate radiator, pump and overflow. This is all pretty much for s**ts and giggles but I thought it may be good to get some input, I’m not sure if either would be better or cooler but I don’t think it’s worth it to do both. What do yall think? Will I get better operating temps with an oil to water with a thermostat or should I water cool the barrels? Either way they should be beneficial when it’s boost time, but that’s for later, I still got more reading to do on this forum. Thank you posts from the last 2 decades XD and thanks for your input

I dont find a ressource, where i can buy a complete conversion kit.
