That leak you have is probably the o rings on the two front head studs either side of the cam tunnel. The tall ones. The orings perish and let oil past. It runs down at the front of the engine and looks like a head gasket leak. Easy fix.

The wiseco kit fairly livens them up though. Slotted cams sprockets  and RS 36s with it and you will definately notice the difference.

Is this repairable without head gasket removal?

  2. Hey all, I am going to be yanking the mill for some transmission work to back cut trans. If I do a wiseco 1168 to the motor, without cams, is it worth it? Motor runs great. It does have a slight oil leak at head gasket near the upside down bolt. I am running stock carbs with stage 3 jet kit. I plan on RS36 flats in the future. I hate taking motor apart, so, if I know I want to do it why not do it? But, before I spend cash I really don't need to, is it worth it. Will I notice a difference with out cams? Or port work? Is it possible to build a motor up over time, or do you have to do it in one shot?

    Thanks.

  3. Hey all, 83 gs1100ed. When cold it will pop out of 1st or 2nd at or near redline, or when the power hits good above 8000. After warm it's not so prevelant. I am pretty sure I have cable adjusted properly. I am running barnett Kevlar plates and barnett springs. The steels were in almost perfect condition. Trans messed up? Shift forks? Hoping the trans doesn't need parts. Suggestions or insight much appreciated. Again, no issues until after 8000 rpm.

  4. I swapped stems from original forks. Had to cut a relief in old yoke to get it out. Added knurling to the bottom portion of stem and pressed into bandit bottom yoke. Bent the Damn press! I have an 1100ed. Bearings were same size. I had to have the collar that goes into top clamp machined to fit bandit top triple. Using a 2002 front end. Should be the same for earlier.

  5. Hey all, simple question. If I order mikuni flatslides or keihin CR's, what size jets should I start with? Do I start with size I have in the current stock cv's? Which is filled with a dyno jet kit currently. Or can I order them jetted to match my application.? Stock 1100 with a motowerks gp exhaust. Thinking 34 flats or 33 CRs.
