  1. Yes, genuine Suzuki black chrome pipes.
  2. Dezza it's an 1100, the pipes look original but I'll check if they are Suzuki, they look the same as the Kat pipes I had on my old 1100ET with a bit of dexion to mate up the mounting brackets.
  3. It's well tidy and original so it'll be ride it first and see what develops from there, probably end up going restomod but keep the ability to go back to original at some point if needed. Forgot how heavy they are so hopping off a Doocarti onto it will require some sensory recalibration.
  4. I thought it was an ME33 but it's on Lasertecs, I'll be checking how old they are before taking it out. Last hit the road just before Covid, carbs need a clean but she's ticking over better each time she's fired up.
  5. Well, 250 miles later she's finally home and squirrelled away in the garage until I can check her over, daughter's boyfriends stuff is taking up too much space!
  6. Thanks gents, that'll be just one of a list of jobs to do on it when it arrives home.
  7. I've finally done and bought a 1982 Kat 1100, pick it up in a week's time. I was just reminiscing back to the feeble headlight on my old ET and wondered if anyone had done an LED headlight conversion on a Kat or could recommend one.
  8. An interesting thread with some interesting thoughts, I just thought about the fact that not all of the front tyres available for the bike would weigh the same from different manufacturers and having the wheel balanced could see 20g added in weights. Also consider as the tyre wears it becomes lighter. I guess in World SBK they are at the law of diminishing returns and are at the edge of weight saving anyway, within class regs and as has been pointed out, the big old GSX is a bit of a barge to start with and is hardly a razor sharp track tool, just thinking.
  9. Now I'm sure I've seen that baby in a magazine somewhere.
  10. Rene, what front end do you have on that? That's a bit more than a corner!
  11. Would that be the Rene Schilperhoord (apologies if my spelling is incorrect) who featured in Practical Sportsbikes a few times?
  12. Jaydee, your bollock is safe, only 1 pic of 4k bike but loads of stuff of no relevance, including cars!
  13. Joseph, any pictures or details? That would have been an option some years back but dodgy hips limit how long I can ride for. I'm in Aberdeen and the direct Paris flight was stopped during Covid and never reinstated.
  14. I'm now of the mindset that if I can't see a bike in the flesh or at least someone who I trust has seen it then I'm not bidding on it! At least we know he's out there!
  15. He kindly sent me a pic of the E4k EFE saying that was mint and said the current one was very very cheap which made me think something isn't lining up right here. If it was cheap and so good why hasn't it sold? We live and learn and hopefully not get burned.
  16. Yes, that's the fella, the fact it'd been listed for 5 months had me thinking something was not quite right, never got to the fact it wasn't actually in Ireland. I considered going across to stay with cousins in Dublin and driving across to view it, that wouldn't have worked!
  17. The guy was absolutely sound and he seems to move a lot of bikes, it's been up for sale for 5 months, that more than anything got my spidey sense going. 2 hour drive from Dublin so considered going across to see it.
  18. A strange mark on the bottom of the tank and sidepanel looks a bit melted, all there though. It is 35 years young after all.
  19. The bike is complete, showing its age but generally tidy, sounded ok on the video, carbs may need balancing, on at 2700 Euro. I have pictures somewhere.
  20. Pumas are on my feet and I'm jogging on! Thanks for your words gents. My old Dad always said buy the best you can afford, if it seems to good a deal there's probably something not right in there.
  21. It's been advertised for 5 months so I suspect others have viewed and considered the same potential issues. I would suspect the ROI would also require a headlight change but the kmh speedo would be ok.
  22. Duckndive, it's never been registered in the ROI although it's apparently an easy process so I'm told by the vendor, makes me wonder as to why he never did it. To bring it into the UK I believe it will need an IVA and the work must be checked and confirmed at an MOT Test Centre. As it's fully faired I doubt the test centre would see a top mounted speedo corrector. It's just when you start adding all the associated costs it doesn't look as attractive a deal as first thought. Pay a bit more and make life easier!
  23. I'm looking at buying a Polish registered EFE from a guy in Ireland, he's never registered it there. Looked at what needs to be done to register it in the UK and first up is the correct headlight. The.Gov website says no stickers, deflectors etc, it must dip to the left. Speedo is in KMH only so I thought a speedo corrector would manage that but the guide says no secondary devices allowed. You can apparently put stickers with mph markers but they must be on the speedo face not the glass/plastic cover. A new headlight and potentially a set of clocks starts racking up the £££'s. Then there's the fees. Anyone got any experience of a similar situation?
