  1. Thanks for the information about alternatives, just got myself a set of 36mm Triumph Daytona 1200 carbs, exactly the same Mikuni BST36 as GSXR. anybody got any thoughts on where to start with jetting? I'm running an 1168 big bore with Harris pipe and plan to run pod filters. Is it just a matter of getting it to run and seeing what happens. If somebody has done this mod and can give me a baseline to start from it would be really useful.
  2. i can't tell you if it is worth doing, as my gsx1100 project is not on the road yet, but I can tell you that it's an easy conversion. the bandit swing arm went in with just two top hat spacers made up, as the swing arm is slightly narrower and the spindle is smaller on the gsx. front end was a real surprise, even the bearings were the same size, mine runs 1200 bandit forks with an RF900 bottom yoke and a 1200 bandit top yoke, just needed a small spacer on the top yoke, as the RF900 stem has about 12mm turned down at the end compared to the bandit one. I'm just about to create lock stops, but the idea for that came from an American website and seems simple to do. im sure there are lots of others on the forum who will be able to advise you, however I can tell you it looks great on nice wide bandit wheels.
  3. Cheers guys, that gives me more options. 36s it is, if I can find some.
  4. I don't have a stock set of carbs, this is a complete project, with engine, running gear and frame all coming from different sources. So the world is my oyster for carbs, I just happen to have a set of 40mm, hence my question. Were the 36s only fitted to GSXR750/1100? I've just had a quick look on Eblag and I can see sets of 38s, but no 36s
  5. I've got a set of 40mm carbs from a 1991 GSXR1100 slingshot, I know they will fit my GSX1100ET, but are they too big?? The engine has a Wiseco 1170 kit, but is 40mm just too much? (Is there such a thing as too much:)) I can see people are running 36 and 38mm, plus American websites suggest 40mm for track bikes only. I'm thinking maybe the inlets and valves are just not big enough, so I'd be wasting my time. any thoughts?
  6. They are every bit as nice in the flesh, as they look in the photos. thanks for sorting it Clive.
  7. Fantastic, I've sent you a private message about payment:)
  8. thanks for having a look, I'm in Wiltshire.
  9. Hi Duckndive, I'd be interested, what do you have and what do you want for them? I've seen I can source gsxr followers on Eblag, but I can't see any of the other bits I need.
  10. I have a virtually complete GSX1100et engine (1074). The only thing I'm missing is the rockers, their shafts and the bolts and springs. I've been waiting for months for a good set to come up on Eblag, with no joy. Do rockers from anything else fit? I'm beginning to think it might actually be easier to break the engine for spares, sell them all and then buy a complete engine. Any thoughts?
