I've done a search for information on swapping out my efe wheels for something lighter and can't find anything specific to the efe. Can anyone direct me to a good source?

What info I have found suggests the 93-95 GSXR1100 should work but the details are missing. Does the speedo cable fit, does it measure accurately? Do the brakes swap over as well?

Try harder, all the info you need is available on here.....

The AFR with 140 main jets was 13, I put 142.5 jets in it, mixture was way to rich, that rich that it didn't run propperly on boost, the AFR was lower as 10.

I have a suspicion that one or both sizes jets might be off, I think I can see that the 142.5 bores are larger then the 140 bores, this should be minimal and not noticable with the naked eye, I think.

I dropped the needles 1 groove, straight away the highest groove, the AFR on the needles look alright now.

Tomorrow the 140 jets go back in, and have another look.

Also retard the ignition a couple of degrees, so she's finaly done.

I've alse read in the past that the pitot tubes can cause a rich or lean mixture, no clue what can cause what.

i can tell you from experience if the emulsion tubes are worn it causes rich and shitty running

  4. sorry, i should have been more specific, et uk model, early 80's, the one before the efe, although there was i think a ex model of the same period but i don't know of the differences between that and the et??

As to your clock problem, why not get the top and bottom covers cut some plate to the same international size, get say gsxr Speedo/taco cut two round holes in the plate mount clock's and cover plate in say carbon fibre stick on sheet ;) gsx600f gen1 clock's are the smallest clock's I've seen by the way

thats my line of thinking, but using the standard et face with the innards removed and something else electronic in the place of the mechanicals

no, that model doesn't cut the mustard not with me  anyway, just my opinion but that model is gopping xD

  7. Hi and welcome, we like lots of pics :D

i think the only thing you could do is alter spacing on the wheel if you can, you could of course cut down the pivot tube and space it there, but you shouldn't have to

bit of a shitter that one, i would be back on the phone to them i think

  8. front end/ back end differences are irrelevant because they will be changed for something modern,  its the physical size between the two that is more important in terms of fitting of parts, i know what will fit the 1100, and if the 750 is the same size then using one wont present any unforeseen  problems, interesting topic though for ideas/inspiration

  9. just been out for a bit of a blast, while its hot and dark, i am amazed how many dicks in cars there are wanting to race? or whatever it is they think they are doing??, happy to report running well, cleaned up no end running wise, although 3 figures and above and it is vibrating something alarming through the bars and pegs enough to give white finger or foot, faster you go the worse it gets, but given that i don't spend much time in that territory maybe doesn't matter, i am hoping the efe is smoother once on the road.

One other thing, there are some bugs about tonight, some of them fkin jurassic :D

Mr Wraith is right about the headlights, wank with a capital W.

  10. it does leave me with a problem though, with the revcounter, et's are cable driven, and efe, oilboilers electronic, i want to keep the original look of the bike but i want the gauges to work!, this only counts of course if it gets an engine upgrade:D

  11. got the new dj emusion tubes today, got them fitted and with a bit of messing with the mixture screws for a smooth idle its cured i think, just been out and i think its sorted, although i think its still a bit rich but easy to set off steady, and pulls clean right to the redline:D

    result

  12. i am thinking the 1100L  i have just bought will make a good donor bike or would it be wrong to break it up?, i have never had a soft spot for them not like the efe or et's, it would give me just about everything i need i think for a special,  the efe i have is staying so an et it is i think, but i am not sure its the right way to go?????????
