Wraith, really chap? Reading rules? I'm a man, we don't do that. We flounder around asking stupid questions.

    I'll go read them now.

I didn't know about the for sale/wanted section. But I'm torn about which way to go with it. I don't want to throw huge amounts of cash at it and then it turn into a garage princess and be paranoid about leaving it anywhere. I use my bikes all the time (1,200 miles in the last month and a half on a 1958 Triumph 6T. Yes I'm a pervert).

I've done an oil/filter change, jumped it from my Guzzi battery and it sounds pretty good. A little bit smokey when warm, which could be the pod filters and crap jetting. I'm going to get the carbs off tomorrow and check the jet sizes and refit the original air box until I decide what filter and jetting to use. I think I'll also check the valves while I'm at it. I'm pretty sure I still have a load of GS shims in the shim box.

Stands up at a OSS meeting, hi I am Andrew.

Throw huge amounts of cash... done, oh.

    Garbage princess... done, oh.

Dreams of half a dozen new project ideas a day... done, oh.

    heeey I resemble those facts.

Welcome to OSS andyroach let your journey begin.

  2. Personally if that is your pump pre filter, It would be suspect through design that it can cause aeration of the fuel going into it.

I prefer the factory (sock type, internal pump type)( external pump, a length of hose 3/8'' or 10mm before the pump and a little cartridge filter)  as a pre filter to EFI pumps or something similar and more so a void/ space area before the inlet for suction.

    But thats me.

I had a sintered type like above in a clear hosing and saw this aeration post filter.

    Happy pioneering.

    Cheers Andrew.

I think (believe) this one (in the centre) to be either GSX750ET or GSX1100EFE. The one on the right is simple Neutral only. If the drums do rotate in different directions its sort of clear why you don't get all the outputs ( i'm almost surprised you get any!)

    Nope they are my switches,

    left 2007 bandit 1250, middle 93 GSXR1100W (water cooled) using this in my 82 GSX1100 engine, right 82 GSX1100.

So does the gsxr1100w have all the wires for the gears?  Or am I looking at this upside down xD

    It looks like this mounted

It is only two wires blue for neutral light and pink for the gear position and the resistors are in the unit.

Just ignore the other references it was for research purposes of the 1250 switch but the GSXR gear position values were the same,

Here are the values, the same as the 1250 bandit,

    001.thumb.jpg.3ee0520839c1baf031c96ea2f319b6eb.jpg

And the 93 GSXR1100W so it is the water cooled GSXR switch mounted in my 82 GSX1100,

I used this switch for the gear position indicator on my 2009 GSX650F dash.

  5. Well whatever direction you decide there is no wrong way just what suits your bikes purpose application.

    Enjoy the journey.

My GSX Kat with 1250 Bandit EFI is coming up to 4 years of commuting with factory ECU, but that suited my riding application.

    Cheers Andrew.

  6. Maybe replacement aftermarket ones.

For initial ease of conversion I went whole 1250 harness sensors, as it was more modern over the counter parts and connectors etc. I know you want to play with your own computer etc but at least get it running standard ECU then once done splice in your custom setup that way you have a base to fall back onto. Bandit 650 to a standard 600 would run straight up standard ECU no adjustment like mine. Just a thought.

The 650 Bandit came with ABS so you could also have this factory setup, you mentioned later modern benefits.

  7. 650 Blue injectors,

    IMG_4533.thumb.JPG.5016efef04075f83f877e9a9a8cb5e0c.JPG

    1250 Green injectors,

It is really really easy to put this injection on 'standard' motors for EFI.

And get easy starting for years, a bit cool this morning.

Or this, particularly if you could drive it using the Suzuki front sprocket electronic speedo drive used on 1250 Bandit etc.

  9. I suppose my choice was Suzukis choice in the end I had to replicate these specifications and the inlet oil gallery was the only place spot on so yes my choice.

    https://www.manualslib.com/manual/826775/Suzuki-Gsf1250.html?page=197#manual

    Resistance (Ω)

    Temperature sensor specification

    Temperature

    20 °C (68 °F)

    50 °C (122 °F)

    80 °C (176 °F)

    110 °C (230 °F)

    3

    4) Install the ECT sensor. Refer to "ECT Sensor

    Removal and Installation (Page 1C-2)".

    B718H11306010

    Standard resistance

    Approx. 2.45 kΩ

    Approx. 0.811 kΩ

    Approx. 0.318 kΩ

    Approx. 0.142 kΩ

So if my yoshi progress 2 temperature reading matches the ECT specs needed for my EFI then yes its accurate for my purpose.

  10. I had mounted it for comparisons to where it is now,

Oil gallery adjacent the clutch cover was atleast 20 deg cooler.

Oil gallery exhaust side of head was at.east 20 deg hotter.

Sounds like the three little bears story... and the oil gallery inlet side was just right.

Back to the OP question it seems you have alot of answers to choose from.
