The 3 prong relay for  hazard , 2 prong for blinker only . There are a few models with the self cancelling module .... looks like you have one on yours .

79 gs1000e self xanseling looks similar but has two harnesses one is 4 pin and other i think is 6 pin ...

We don't like seeing this ! ! ! Excessive sealant - imagine all the bits you can't see! Whip the sump off and check the strainer if the engine has been run........................if it hasn't - shame on you !

I'm sorry but I don't follow.. What did you do to the diaphragm?? My buddy has that petcock on his GS850L.  Not the same as mine but the same process should work.

Fit a new O ring to the brass  bit and put a srong spring behind it so it can not open remove and block off vacuum from carb

Then On is off and Prime is on

  4. On my 78 gs1000e iv got a vacuum tap wit prime , on and reserve

The vacuum diaphram kept leaking and flooding the nr3 cil. so iv put a strong spting on the diaphram ? disconnected and blocked the vacuum hose an put an inline filter ( as the intank filter is out )

Now prime is on and on is off ...

parts 10 and 11 (10 is no longer available from Suzuki) are also important.

I have used some other rubber stuff (vacuum pipe cut open or something similar) and glued it on the inside of the bracket where the speedo touched it. What matters is that there's no metal to metal contact between the speedo (and tacho) and the bracket.

Once the engine was out, I wanted to soda blast it and get it back to fresh aluminum. Repaint the top end. Then pull all the covers and polish them back up like new, and check the bottom and top end before I put everything back on with new bolts

jetting chart might be handy  think ill get lager jets not sure to go with the 144 as been suggested by Wraith as these are bigger than whats fitted now or to go to standard  115 and adjust needle if need be   jest costing £20 a set from Eblag not bad but cant afford to keep buying sets  so im looking for the best option with a little bit of tweaking of needle air screws etc

Thing is with cone filters as speed increases the pasing wind runs carbs lean my vm26 slides also had 115 s oe and it almost cost me burnt valves from a runing lean . Try the shoping site 'wish' or 'ali x' for jets . Ithink dyna jet is also a good option

Tried new plugs, no change, FFS! So as far as I am concerned I have done the simple stuff first.

so I just tore down a spare set of bs34ss carbs, I will put through the sonic cleaner on Monday and see what that does.

I put one of those jumpers that goes from the lead to the plug and spark was jumping a .040 gap, so I am thinking the ignition is good, at idle anyways?

Can anybody think of anything other than the carbs?

Manifold O rings ? Fucked me around on my GS1000E  revs like a fart out of a bath tub but soon as there is load its dead as a door knob till i changed the o rings between head and manifolds .
