Hi all,
Just trying to suss out which type of coolant I can use with this bike. I've looked in the workshop manual but it just says use suzuki coolant. Just wanted to find out the properties of the suzuki stuff they recommend (OAT, silicate free, etc).
Is anyone running a non suzuki coolant and if so what brand. Anyone know a cheap place to buy the suzuki stuff?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I'm currently trying to get a 750w back on the road which had been in a front ender. The new frame I got was an 1100 frame which has a different kickstand and mounting system to the 750 frame. The frame did not come with kickstand so I'm currently trying to get one for it. I have already purchased one but the mounting bracket was incorrect so before I throw more money at this I was hoping various people with 1100's could tell me the space between the bolt hole centres on their kickstand mounts and let me know what year of bike you own.
Thanks in advance.

Apparently, bushings and longer bolts are needed to fit the shock absorber.
Thanks for this. Do you know what size bushings? Can you post a link here if you have seen the info somewhere?

Hi all,
Back with more questions. I sold the God awful S1000RR shock after it failed to fit in a spectacular fashion (well not that spectacular really), and bought myself a K7 shock. Once again this is described by other fellow waterboilers as a 'bolt on' mod. Am I just special (rhetorical question) because in my case it isn't. The spring is too wide to fit between the dog bones without resistance on the spring. Can someone who has done this mod please advise me regarding the process they followed and whether it was necessary for them to make spacers to widen the gap between the dog bones to make it work.
Thanks in advance

Ohlins has a lower bottle, K5 sits higher. They come out at 325 so possible to run longer bones on the WR/S arm or maybe run a 750 WP linkage with the over braced arm, I think there may be an advantage there.
Not sure if your illustrating a point by including all of this but I my situation the bog bones will make the situation worse. I am already using wp linkage. All of the swing arm related parts are wp, it's only the frame that came off an 1100 wr

Ok, well that shock looks more 315 than 310 so lets see if we can fix it.
It's 310. I measured from the top edge of one bolt to the near edge of the other,if you see what I mean

I'm just not expecting a casting, at least with the bolt on top mount you have some options.
I can see how that shock should work with a WP banana Arm, with the overbracing I can't see it.
I have a K5 shock here, doing nothing, that I can send over, but I can't see that it's going to help.
Length is 325, but the bottle sits much higher.
If you want it, drop me a line.
I know what your saying. I'm thinking whoever posted previously saying that the s1000 shock is a bolt on has either just measured the hole centres and never actually tried it, or they have only tried it with a bananarama

Sorry, but that top shock mount looks all sorts of wrong.
Elaborate please

Has anyone on here actually got one of these bolted up. Some pictures might help me. Also does anyone know ow if this has been done with a braced arm or only with a banana?

Wrong shock then.
I'll take some measurements when I'm back from work but it was advertised as 2013 and has no electronics on it, so I think it's the right shock

Definitely 1100. Not 750.
Don't explain why shock don't fit.
Same lengh as 750.
Them BMW shocks fit the 750 OK.
Could it be down to the swing arm being a 750 swing arm and associated hardware on an 1100 frame?

From memory I’m pretty sure GU75 prefix is a water cooled 1100 frame
750’s were GR 75,77,7A,7B depending on the year etc slabby slingshot water buffalo
I have the codes somewhere if I can find them I’ll post here
I believe your right. That was the conclusion I came to. Just wanted to check I hadn't misinterpreted the code

The frame number is no longer present on the side of the frame (can I get it from anywhere else). The v5 states 750. I suppose it may be possible the previous owner may gave it to me unwittingly or he in turn may have been given it unwittingly when he bought it.

It's got a bolt on subframe, so 100% a water boiler. Probably an 1100 frame.
Yeah that's what I was thinking but a friend of mine was adamant that it's not and I generally trust his judgement. Ill do some digging.

So I have the 190mm dog bones on the braced arm. I also have the banana arm with the 205mm dog bones.
I'm assuming the 205mm bones will make the issue worse rather than better

But that top shock mount should be bolted on which seems odd?!
Yah. I'd really like to get to the bottom of it

@SpadgeDog bones should be 190mm centres.
@dupersuncany idea why it's not right?
Top shock mount doesn't look right for a wn model. Maybe 750m?
Not at home to check at the moment. I'll update you all later or tomorrow.
Thanks

And do check length of dog bones. Too long will cause that problem.
Any chance you could give me the measurements of your dog bones from end to end or from hole centre to hole centre?

Hadn't though about rotating the canister. What would you be aiming to achieve your rotating it?
Regards top shock mount I know what you mean as all of the fiches for all years show a bolt on mount. I was equally perplexed by that.
Also is that an aprillia swing arm? Which model/year. Do you think it will change the geometry much?

I see yer problem. Top shock mount should be bolted on, spadge. If it's w/c frame.
Wn frame. The mount is machined on the frame

That's odd; I had one on a Slingshot with a braced swingarm for a bit and didn't have any issues. I'll try and find some pics
Pics would be tremendous. Thanks

As an example of the glycol based blue stuff (not that I'm saying I'm going to use it as I resent Halfords other than for their tools) would the Halfords blue stuff be appropriate? It says it contains silicate and is IAT
