Suzukian Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 (edited) You cannot repair a thread. If it is cross threaded, it's ruined, it it's stripped, it's ruined. The only option is inserts, or going to the next oversize tap. You cannot fix a thread, you can with Alum-Aloy, but I don't think you guys have ever used that stuff. I have fixed broken flanges on cylinder heads and machined them flat with that stuff. I've also repaired cowlings on aircraft, some vintage , with it.
