davemon Posted June 12, 2019 Share Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) Hi all,my fork compression adjusters turn but dont click or adjust (GSXR 1100 L) also the compression is rock hard,any ideas on how to repair as I want to keep the forks? Jaydee Posted June 13, 2019 Share Posted June 13, 2019 Have the forks been rebuilt recently by any chance? Does the compression adjuster feel like it tightening up when you turn it? The gap on the damper rod shaft could excessive/not to spec, as in the nut (part 14) might be screwed down too far on the damper rod before the cap assembly was put on. This can restrict rebound and also preload adjustment and cause the forks to rock hard and out of adjustment range. 1 Quote Link to comment
davemon Posted June 13, 2019 Author Share Posted June 13, 2019 Thanks for the reply,the preload And rebound work fine it's just the compression that jumps over bumps at the bottom of the stroke,the fact that the adjusters do nothing is the concern,but I suppose a strip down is the only answer as I haven't been inside the forks myself!
