Hi all iv fitted a gsf1200 mk1 carb cap on my 95 gsx750f, it does fit over the diaphragm correctly, but it is slightly higher than standard. Will this affect the running of my 36mm mikuni CV carbs? I haven't refitted them yet! Kind regards

Hi all iv just rebuilt my gsx750f mk1 carbs ( 36mm mikuni), and iv had a job trying to find a new carb cap, so i v got a carb cap off a gsf1200 mk1 bandit, which does fit, however it is a little taller than the standard cap. I did have a major problem that when started from cold with no choke or throttle ( no cables sticking), she would rev to about 8000rpm, so i turned her off straight away. So iam expecting an air leak? Question is would this make a difference to the running as the are vacuum carbs? Kind regards
