Thanks both for replying. I've attached a couple of photos of the outside edges of the cluster. You can see that the plastic moulding (top) is longer than the pressed metal part (bottom), Is the 1000 part larger than the 750? It had occurred to me that they are two different parts.

My 1977 gs750 clock binnacle was wrapped in silver duct tape or similar. Took it apart to see if it was broken. No breakage or cracks but I cannot get it back together. It seems the bottom half is bigger / wider than the top part? Any tips on putting it back together?
