Yup, the RS stands for rattle slides

Yeah ,  expected it , been running an a HSR 48 on my T Man prepped 124” Harley for 20 years....

  2. Well got everything sorted out on the RS38s . Got new set of MK1 intake rubbers. Lord what a difference! They are some noisy sonaguns with low idle . Not bad at all around 1250 or so . But Wow…

No - TPS of this vintage were idiot devices to only retard ignition in lower gears and for noise emission standards! A DJ 2000i or Ignjet? system is a good idea if further tuning mods - Head work, Bore size, CR increase etc., otherwise a stock system is still ok.

Great ! just what I wanted to hear!! Tx so much…

  4. OK , going to the Mikuni Rs38’s . Question is, on my 2002 B12 with the tps , will I need to invest in a Dynatek Dyna 2000 ignition? To control my advance ? Tia

If it's a 2002 (mk2) you'll probably have to swap to mk1 inlets too as the later ones (bsr carbs) have a different spacing to earlier gsxr/mk1 bandits (bst carbs)

Would the intake rubbers from the 86 gsxr1100 be the correct ones ? Or should I round up some newer from a mk1 ? Thx for feedback….

  6. Got a chance to get a set of Rs38’s on the cheap side got a 2002 gsf1200 with pipe and pods RU2922 and 4* Advance.. will 38 be alright or the 36s be better?? TIA….

    Strangely . . . . if you buy that 'kit' RU - 2922 it costs £149.99. But if you buy RU - 2920 x2 it will only set you back £99.98 ! ! !

Its the same filter, just the first is two in the box and the latter is bought as singles! And yes the 60mm hole variants are the correct ones.

Thx Gixer1460 , found the 2920 on Amazon for 89.00 delivered Tomorrow  !!! Thx

  8. If your running a 4 into 1 install an o2 bung in the collector inline with more than likely #1 high and tight to engine and you’ll be able to dial in every circuit in those bad boys.. shoot for 12.8 -13.5 on idle circuit   Then set the main as close to 13.0 without detonation if detonation is experienced throw more fuel down to 11.5 , then play with needle to get the crispness throughout the entire range . I’m in the beginning stages of doing the same thing with stage 3 Dynojet kit on my  02 Bandit 1200s , but with the stock BSR36ss….takes the guessing out of it without Dyno time..

  9. Got an 02 with the 36’s , going to install a K&N and FreeFow exhaust. Has 15 pilots ,100 mains , I want to shim the slides as well. My questions are how much more pilot would be needed , if any, and Size of main jet to start off with. And how large are the shims..TIA…

the little spade connector coming off the main earth next to the battery can cause all kinds of problems if corroded, if you put a bandit into gear and it cuts out when the neutral light goes out first thing to check is that spade connection.

    Thx , will give that a look…✌️

Not enough charge going into the battery maybe or a broken wire in the loom near the engine, loom warms up flexes bike cuts out bike cools down loom wire makes connection bike starts and so on? or cdi breaking down when it gets warm I have had that happen before and was a bugger to track down to the cdi, or starter solenoid playing silly buggers .

Got 13.4 sitting 14.1-3 charging(running)…it seems to have something to do with neutral switch , about a minute before it dies the neutral light goes out starter button dead . Got a starter solenoid coming .

  12. Got a New to me 2002 Bandit 1200s. 4000 original miles Beautiful Blue . Rebuilt the carbs Al Balls kits , working perfectly ,revving, idle good , 10 minutes into running , dies and starter button won’t engage, nothing . All lights working . Wait 30 or so minutes , starts right up . Repeat,Repeat…….TIA..
