    Big bore?

Fresh plugs. Tried new ngks. No spark on any cylinder.

    Big bore?

Everything seems good. I have power to the coils but no spark. Engine cranks strong and doesn’t draw much at all. Pulls it down to 11.7 while cranking

I will go back through and check everything. Didn’t know how to check the pulse coil. I will check that as well.

Engine turns over strong. With a plug in one of the coils. And grounded to the engine. It has zero spark. I have tried with ether and regular fuel. And still nothing. I’m worried that the initial try where we had hooked up the car battery might’ve fried the pulse generator. Is that possible? Truly appreciate your help.

That was one of the initial problems I had. As I had neglected to install the ground to the engine cases. We ran an automotive battery that we had sitting close by thinking my battery was weak because it hadn’t been on charge much for the winter. It is now grounded very solidly. And still have the same issue of no spark.

Decided to try and figure this out. My mechanic is buried in work. Mess with it a bit tonight. Make sure everything was plugged in and tight. Still nothing

Engine is in. No spark. Gonna take it down to my mechanic when I get home from my roadtrip. In San Simeon Ca right now headed north

Well it’s all in. Tried to fire it up tonight. Take a lot to crank it and even with ether it didn’t even cough. So evidently no spark. Gotta figure that one out but I’m running out of time. Supposed to leave Friday for a week long trip and I was gonna try and break in the engine on the ride. I bought a 2011 KTM990 Adventure last Saturday. So I guess I’m gonna be on two wheels. Damnit
  9. Good info. Except the fact that it was a bone stock engine. Now it has high compression pistons that are forged. And I was cruising at about 60 mile an hour on the interstate in light traffic When it happened. so I’m genuinely curious on your response to that

Motor is done. 81 mm bore, 1216 cc. 11.2 to 1 compression. Well the head was off we redid the valves. Made sure everything was good. Cleaned up real nice. Trying to figure out jetting. I will be doing a lot of trips to sea level and although I live at 7900 feet elevation. I think I would rather have it jetted for sea level. Trying to get this thing dialed in for long road trips. Nice thing with the tub as I can Carry a tent, a cot, sleeping bag, nice size cooler. And all the goodies
  11. I would think it would be better to be fat. Then to be Way lean
  12. Late last year I punched a hole in a piston. Still don’t know why. I Bought a Dale Walker /J&E Holeshot performance 81mm/1216cc kit. This rig is built for long trips. And although I live at altitude. I will be doing a lot of sea level riding. So I want to jet it for sea level. Anybody have a good starting point for this?

Yeah, funny, they tend to like the sidecar more than being on the back of the bike.
