    Result  thanks

  2. So the original carbs were fooked ..I think I followed a hint on the web that later GSX750F carbs mikuni bst 36 could do the job..so I fitted  them and it runs  ..good stuff..will be running Ramair filters and it will be going on the dyno for set up. BUT..because the float bowls sit at the wrong angle Im wondering if this might bugger things up ??? Anyone have any experience

    Thanks for your time

  3. Ok so I know its a much worn question  but cant seem to get my search right ?

Widest rear tyre (17" swap) can go into a standard 83 gsx1100 swingarm and frame

    THANKS  Folks

  4. So I realised  I had a Fazer 1000 front end...Quick compare  showed the stem bearing  diameters are the same..result..Just had to turn down the length of the top bearing diameter..Will have to make up a spacer  when I get to test fit  ( could be a while original  front end still on and lots of other  things to get finished20240409_121343.thumb.jpg.90b83251242c63b3ee1bc859e23c860f.jpg

  5. Bike is an 83 gsx1100 I have a 600 bandit front end which I have modded to use Brembo calipers.

I know everyone Is using the 1200 forks but other than the extra 2mm diameter the only advantage I can see is preload  adjusters  ( I can figure that with spring spacers)

Anyone think that there is a reason not to go ahead  before I swap my stem ?

    Thanks

  6. Hi all. I have been over what I think are all the available posts and links but can’t find what I need

So… it’s the much talked of Mikuni bst 36mm carbs on a GSX1100. ( 83 in this case)

I have a nice set from

    a 92 GSX 750F ( katana )

What I would like to know are the baseline jet sizes and settings .
It has a ‘Mac’ 4-2 exhaust ( anyone want to trade for a 4-1 ?) Stock cams

Right now it has a set of RS flat sides on which will be going on another more worthy build and to be honest doesn’t really run as I’d like with them on

Anyone care to give me some ballpark sizes etc.
    Big thanks for your time.

    John
