Was hoping there would be something of a similar or longer length with the same fittings at each end . I’m not worried about remote adjuster etc

I’ve just bought a 750 Es as a project, one of its issues is a leaking shock is there a modern shock that will swap into it ?

It’s a steelheart one from what I was told

Dot head on a bandit does give a few clearance issues due to the carb angle. I did read that Mr upperton said the dot head doesn’t flow anymore than the bandit head so you could keep the bandit head and raise the compression to get the same result in theory

Rs 38’s and 36’s both worked well on my bandit however for day to day use and making it more user friendly I reverted back to the cv’s with a modded airbox.
1216,big valve ported head , dialled in gsxr cams etc and it’s 148hp/95ftlbs , if I went back to the flatslides I may gain a couple of hp but it’d spoil the midrange.
I was talking to Sps about fcr’s and he suggested 37’s would be best on a 1216

Slingshot or water cooled tanks have been fitted to mk1’s but the bottom edge doesn’t truly suit the frame but as the mk2 has a straighter frame it may fit better but does need modifying underneath.
Jason fibreman dunne does slingshot style tank covers that sits over the original tank , he could possibly do one for a mk2

A mate with a vfr arm fitted into a bandit 12 has recently tried a cbr shock and it wouldn't fit , not sure if that was down to his subframe mods or the arm though.

Cbr600rr 03-04 is a good swap for a mk1 1200

Someone's possibly previously had the head or engine fitted into a bandit 600 and used the 600's carbs

That is a very nice job, ticks all the boxes perfectly. It's one of the few I've see where it actually looks like it could have been made that way. Laverda 650 ?
One of those models , 668 ,750. Seems like everyone has slight differences

It took me ages to find something that wasn't A. To long B. To wide , nothing worse than a seat unit that's wider than the frame/ tank when view fro the rear C. Not angular , a bandit has rounded lines so a modern seat unit doesn't suit them D. That hadn't been done to death. I'd look to mid 90's bikes some of the smaller stuff as well as some of the Chinese bikes maybe

Micron did a system that looks very similar to those headers which had a 3 bolt flange .

Inlet rubbers on a mk1 are the same as the gsxr for 36mm carbs, part numbers run aequentially 1-2-3-4 where as the mk2 inlet rubbers aren't they are 2-2 in that the left 2 are the same and the right 2 are the same
-
Rs36/38 carbs have the same inlet diameter I've fitted both into standard bandit 12 inlet rubbers . If the rubbers are really hard or awkward on one set I slightly chamfered the leading edge and then they went it with ease
