  1. Got a completely standard GSXR1100N model - the one in silver/black/pink with purple wheels. 1992 on a J plate. It's running fine - just been serviced - although I was going to change battery because it was starting to struggle to start the thing. Anyway, after a prolonged use of the Optimate and a few decent long rides the battery seems to have improved. However it has developed an intermittent issue with the indicators/lights which is obviously electrically related. The service workshop (Hammer & Tongs which has now gone bust) traced this to loose/corroded wires in the lhs front indicator. Basically the problem manifests itself as follows: - Turning on the headlights at the switch only serves to illuminate the high-beam blue light (which remains on whether or not the dipper switch is set to high or low) as well as indicating the rear tail light and all 4 indicators which do not flash. No headlight or small front side light at all - Turning on the indicator switch without the headlights on does work the flashers but the front two are very dim indeed - all four bulbs seems to work at normal brightness when the above scenario is happening . - Turning on the indicator switch also illuminates the little strip light above the main headlight which flashes in time to the indicators. - The brake light works as normal when you break via hand or foot. The problem seemed to have been remedied last service when the guy stripped some corroded wire from the lhs front indicator - however it has now come back on an intermittent basis. When it is not manifesting itself all of the systems work as they should. Any thoughts? I guess it must either be some loose or corroded wires creating some short or false paths somehow. To be honest it's not one for me! I was looking for a recommendation as to a decent firm of bike engineers in the NW/Manchester area who might be able to rectify.
