After looking through the various projects in this section I have again got some enthusiasm to re start my Moto Martin build
Came up with some ideas and tried to measure up, as it was ,on the rolling chassis .Found it hard to do so stripped it down
and decided to start over
The first order of business is some kind of stand to get the engine off the ground so I can take the frame on and off
it to figure out the engine /swing arm / top shock mount plates. As the engine is a stressed member I can use the bottom
mid mounts for the stand as they are not utilised to mount the engine.
No pictures as of yet as only just decided to start project on here

Looking at engine mounts ,looks like engine is hung direct off top rear, front mounts extended backward, then fixed lower left and bracket lower right in the two tapped bosses. When its hung like this have the headers on exhaust needed extensions or just standard fitment. also is the fixed lower bracket standard or has that also been modded
Could you put a picture of front engine mount extension please ........Cheers

Bearings are different sizes 22 X 29 X 30 on the 750 25 X 33 X 30 on the 1000
so should transfer from the 750 by making top hat bushes for the 1000 frame keeping the 750 stuff
But you may luck out and find its a 1000 arm sleeved down to fit the 750 so some one could run wider wheel, fingers crossed

As I understand it the original mag 2 had the battery in the glass fibre tail piece . This caused vibration and cracking .The fix was a battery box fixed to the rear subframe.
The modification to some would be by owner hence the variation ,seems logical to me

Hello and welcome Yann.
This must be an early frame ,not seen this type of Moto Martin before, what year was it made
The rear lower engine mounting plates, are they fixed at the swing arm pivot as well as the original upper rear engine mount

great progress Ash
The carb cable mount makes the cables exit vertically and when I tried then on gsxr motor they fouled the tank. You may not have this problem as its GS motor and looks to sit lower ,also mines a mag1 tank but thought it worth a mention. The general solution is mag4 style mag 2 tank. or altering the tank.I never got round to a solution was going to try
altering/make new bracket .However this is about the point life got in the way of my projects

Just interested in how other people have done the mount ,I find its rekindling my interest on a very stalled project, formulating a cunning plan

Plus one on that
Can you put some pictures of your shock mount modification on please

As red herrings go that's a whopper as the slides came with it
Do you think its the CV carb head 1980 on,think slides were 78/79 .

Got some 1100h exhaust gaskets to hand and they measure 41mm to 42mm outside diameter and 33mm to 34mm inside diameter
Quick search of bay gives Bandit as same size ,some list I/D as 35mm hope this helps

That's another drawback of the S4 arm then .bearings in arm are easier to sort.Somewhere along the line think you will have to alter the frame pivots what springs to mind is the way a GS 650 /850 shaft drive arm is mounted .taper rollers on stub shafts that are screwed in frame pivot with the taper cup being in the arm ,they are small and neat will probably fit arm.
may have some pictures from my 650 rat Kat

AP Racing have reintroduced the classic master cylinder range due to demand from restoration and classic racing series,so new but you could not get more period ,you would prob have to keep clipons

Just looking on Harris owners group on social media and found that a company called MOKO did a conversion kit for a 916 arm in to a
Harris Mag 2 frame . simple enough just plates and spacers.
Don't know what the monster arm is like but if its got a gap between the swingarm mounting lugs ,it would work for you.

The GSX was still called GS in the USA so it will be a GSX Your picture shows vin plate on the left hand side, sat on bike ,gives it away as import
The EZ fits with 1982 .The registered bit means first reg for road in this country in 92.
Search ( GSX750E model History ) and it details the differences between models,
Search ( Alpha sports) and get the pictures to compare bits.
In short no noted mods to frame although frame ref differs ET and EX bits should fit IMO.

The engine was only slung in add hock to give the weight to get the ride height.they are only a couple of straps to get the lump off ground
I did not have any reference so made every thing adjustable to get it to work.
These were the lower straps for shock mount . just bits slung together to get size and position

they must have changed the rules coz when i finished building the first incarnation in 2004 they did'nt award points, any three parts would do! obviously its different now!
any hoo i have a v5 for it with the spondon numbers so its all good
It used to be a certain percentage of the donor bike and it would keep the original reg and the vin would change on the book,It would then state," Motorcycle built from parts all or some of which not necessarily new at time of manufacture".This was how to re frame a crashed bike with a frame kit and keep an age related plate exactly as Steelprunes stated. They change this process all the time basically as a means of further taxation.

The back end where the battery box fits is a ringer for mine
Have a look at the joints they should look like this.
I've seen the tabs for the fairings and also the small tubes for the fairing mounts on the front down tubes before,In fact I seem to remember one being built on the original OSS site ,it was a red frame .If the bronze welds are the same I'd say Mag1
At first I thought the swingarm was Motomartin but they are round tube going to rectangular adjusters on mine anyway. There is a rectangular section arm on bay at moment for CBX variant but it don't match that either. As previously mentioned the centre bit where the tabs are is magnum,I also think this is original and early.I'd have a punt on it
Moto Martin ,May finish it this time

Found an old table round back of our works the firm next door threw out when they moved Wrestled it out of undergrowth chopped /pulled it apart to give me some rectangular section. After removing the moss and worms
