Question for the knowledgeable. Mk1 1200 pump has oil relief valve on the body mk2 does not.
Could a mk 2 pump be used on mk1?Physical dimensions are the same and basically the same engine.Weird why it would be changed.

black and red punching stripe for the win, just paint the fairing to match
Agree with Baldrick, black and red is definitely the scheme to go for.

I've got an ex Mistral racing 1216cc side car motor in my slabbie.
The cases have a huge amount of work to help pumping losses. The bottom if the liners have big cut outs to allow flow between cylinders and the webs have been de bured corners radiused. I've also added a big -10 breather to the clutch casing and opened up the cam cover breather. They both go into a large catch tank/ seat support. which is vented to atmosphere via a big air filter.
I've seen healthy gains on race car engines from a good breather set-up and one engine that lost 25bhp,around 10% ,because of a partially blocked breather.
Interesting info here dupersunc.Do you have any pics for reference?3 breathers on my turbo bandit but never thought about crankcase mods..food for thought for next build.....

That's what I've got on mine.Works no problem.Had it on for a few years now.

Fitted mine in standard Mk 1 bandit 12 rubbers.Bit tight but was doable .Heated rubbers and used ratchet strap to fit.

I try and keep mine at 15mm, it doesnt like them any highter, floods a lot. I take carbs off and reset them every 500 miles or so, they do tend to get higher with use, and when the boost has been turned up.
Good info there.Didnt realise float height would change so soon under boost. Found my set up to be way off original setting when I went in to check heights.

Thanks for the info. Will try the 16mm setting to see what happens..sorry to hear about ur piston adventure.I know the feeling I had some problems like that in the beginning too.

99 Bandit 36 cv carbs. What float heights u guys using on turbo application?Took the bike out for a run last night and found to be running real rich low down in rev range.Checked heights today and found them to be low .Does 16mm sound about what they should be set at to compensate for fuel pressure from pump?Stock is 14mm iirc.Just wat to confirm thank you gents.

Suban 12. Set of 4 please.

Nice project you have going on.Think I bought the forks and stuff off you the other week.Small world eh.

Hopefully carb clean fixes this for you.I presume that you checked valve clearances prior to carb balance? If you are going to the dyno I would make sure engine health is good ie good compression readings on all 4 cylinders, valve clearances are good and new plugs all around. Did this running problem happen after the bike had sat for a few months or did it get worse as you continued to ride the bike over a period of time?Or are these carbs new to the bike?

Same set up as Foz on mine.Had them for a few years and no issues .

B12 is hyvo chain and 1100f is regular chain. So not the same cam sprockets.

Seeing as head coolers are being discussed here....what size lines are being used by everyone?-6 or -8?Opinions and reasons would be appreciated .

Got Race Tech valve and springs on mine too.Big improvement and not difficult to do yourself.
-
Try messing with the pilot screw. These carbs are real sensitive to pilot screw settings.Try half turn and see if any different.

Thanks Arttu and CC.Had a look at what others had used too.Have found some detailed guides on the net which should help aswell. Will be a slow process but oh well.

Hi all .Looking for advice on conversion to efi.Thinking on going for microsquirt and 03 gsxr 750 throttle bodies.Basically looking for what parts to use and what needs to be done.I am in Canada so not many people do this here.I know it is not exactly a simple conversion so what are the the things to be aware of .Trigger wheels ,sensors ,throttle body spacing etc etc.I know a lot of you guys have done this already so just want to hear of everyones experiences in this type of conversion. Thanks in advance.
