Cheers Nick, New plugs, fresh petrol and a new battery got it sorted. Old battery had enough life to turn it over but not enough to give her life!

750 is the same fitting. Also K1/2 1000 fits if you don't mind sculpting the belly pan a bit

The problem is not bore size, it's positioning. Do I re-rack the carbs to fit the rubbers or make stubs to fit the carb spacing ?
I have a set already stripped to re-space and a very good set in one piece, either/or, which way do I go ?
I'm thinking do some stubs, I already have carb to stub rubbers and a set of flanges that fit the head so I just need to join the two with an angle to adjust the spacing.
Feel free to dive in with any ideas/suggestions.
Re rack the carbs. Surely adding bits in will lengthen the inlet and create issues? I don't know

Awesome. The owner 's taking it in (with me there of course) on Monday. Monday's do or die, don't wanna give up on this jam, it's unique. Thanx for the advice brv. I'll post when I've got more info.
One more question mate. The irresponsive pull from stand still in first gear, is that sprocket related as they isn't any slip from any gear once up to speed
The irresponsive pull from standstill could be sprocket related, not sure what standard GS gearing should be, might be worth checking

Thanks. I'm going to make those carbs work but I'm going to have to make some more new inlet stubs to mount them, o well, sigh.
A friend of mine got some inlet stubs from an american/canadian model to fit flatslides to his race bike ,they were a different size to the british model. I'll find out the details if you want.

If it's saving weight on an efe, maybe other areas of the machine will be more cost-effective, and with little in the way of a risk of the bike carching fire and burning to a cinder. I do not know the spec of your machine but the cost of a Li battery and specialist charger is a lot. Also, unsprung weight is more important than sprung weight so if unsprung weight can be saved for the same cost as an Li battery conversion, this may be more cost-effective
Bike is being built from bits and lets face it any weight saving on an EFE is a benefit!

Thanks for all the responses , gonna do some phoning tomorrow and see what prices come back.

Wanting to use a Lithium battery but was wondering what size Ah i can get away with ? Where's best place to buy? It's a Gsx 1100 efe. I'm basically trying to reduce weight. Any thought gratefully recieved. Thanks

I used a heat gun to warm the rubbers. Its an EFE so as said its a bit easier

What compression ratio do you currently run? theres possibly further scope with a thinner head gasket
Not sure of ratio. It also has Teflon coated kit pistons, which you have to fit when you have kit valves. Coz the valves are flat and standard valves have a hollow face . I did gap the clearance head to piston and used thinest possible gasket.

GSXR750WT/V/W/X are all SRAD models, just to clarify. Have you thought about fitting a 600 head if you want a bit more go? Smaller combustion chamber, more compressiion.
The head that's on is a Mezz one with kit valves and springs that I got off phase one a few years back. I was just looking at further development.

Hello, just wondering if anyone has done the cam swap on a WT where you put a 1000 inlet cam in the inlet side and the 750 inlet in the exhaust side. Think i got that the right way round. I know its been done on K series but not sure about W's
