  1. Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if any other calipers from, say, a bandit or anything else will fit in as a direct swap on my GSX600fr (1995)

The calipers I have are completely shot. Rebuilding them would cost an absolute fortune, not to mention the hassle. On the front right, for instance, only 1 piston actually moves. Everything else is seized solid.

Just want to go get something else and bolt them on, if that's possible? Both front, plus the rear.

    Any help gratefully accepted

  2. On the old Beemer I had metzelers front and back. Couldn't get a replacement metz for the rear and they recommended a continental. The fairing made front too light, had massive tank slapper and the front end went. Apparently happened to loads of people with fairings. Missus flogged the bike whilst I was laid up in bed (can you believe it?) and the guy who bought it kept the tyres as they were. Worked ruddy perfectly.

Just looking to see exactly what works on the GSX600F. I heard that Michelin pilots were good. wondered what else there was.

  3. I have a GSX 600 FR (1995) and wondered what tyres were good for it? Not sure what I have at the moment, forget what they are and bike isn't here at the moment but in the wet it handles like a supermarket trolley. Good in the dry but awful in the wet.

Are there any tyres out there that are good in both dry and wet?

Had a really bad accident years ago due to a tyre mismatch (although the bike shop , BMW, Metzeler and Continental all said it was a good combination. They forgot to test it with a bike with a fairing...) and don't want the same again. Instinct for self preservation has kicked in with age. This also means that instead of pubs, I now enjoy tea rooms. Please, shoot me, lol

  4. Hi all, new to the forum (what have I missed? It's a mine of information. Ruddy perfect!)

I have a 95 GSX600FR and wondered what simple mods were out there that might be useful. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

One thought was about swapping engine for GSX-R 600.  A) is it possible?  B)  what else would I need to swap and C) would I gain anything? Or would I be better leaving it as is or simply getting a GSX-R  if I want that sort of thing?

  5. Had a "mate" tell me about the carb problems on these bikes. He then stated, in a very loud voice, that anyone who bought one of these bikes wasn't all there and should be locked up as they weren't exactly firing on all cylinders.  This from a guy with an MZ..... Treated it with the contempt it deserved, lol.

  6.  )the bike that is, not meThanks for the replies guys. I've managed to grab a good standard system so I'm good to go on that front now. I'm reliably informed that early slab sider exhausts will fit, around '85, '86 if you can get one, of course.

Just the rear brake to sort and we're up n running. Hopefully new paint job over the winter and the ugly duckling might look a tad more swan like  :-)  (the bike, that is. Not me. No amount of cosmetic help will make any difference to my own ugly fizzog...)

  7. Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any idea if a bandit exhaust will fit on a 1995 gsx600f? It currently has a Motad Nexxus 4-1 with a completely shot collector box. Will a bandit collector box fit? Or any other system? Seems daft to pay over £300 for a new system on an old nail...
