  1. As the title suggests, I've got a leak on the BST 36 carbs on my 1200 bandit,  from the small metal pipe on No 4 carb by the TPS , only leaks when the bike is running , do I need a repair,  or does it mean something is blocked , or new carb ?

    Thanks In advance

  2. Got a problem with my B12 revving to 6k on tick over and wont settle down, carbs are BST36 , just stripped cleaned and rebuilt with new o rings and float valves etc , I've done a few checks

1 idle adjuster is backed right off

    2 butterflies are all closed

3 slides move freely up and down

4 sprayed carb cleaner around, no air leaks as far as I can tell

5 plugs are black, so its running rich

6 disconnected all cables and no changes

I've attached a pic of the carb plunger, theres about 5 mm of it still protruding with the choke off and no cable attached,  so is that normal,  or is something maybe stopping it going fully home

  3. When you do a swap for the standard oil cooler and lines, do you need anything to seal the fittings that go into where the banjo bolts would be, as in do they need a copper washer,  o ring or thread tape ?

  4. Didn't realise how long ago I posted on this,  still beavering away in the background but keep forgetting to take pics, I've just torn down the dry build ready for paint powder and polishing,  and I'm in it for  WAAAAAAY over the initial 1000 budget, partly due to custom yokes and a change to R1 forks , my assistant mechanic is sadly no longer with me , the big C took her in September last year -_-

  5. Yeah I didn't need the stem so I cut it short so it'd fit in the vice, put a huge socket behind it and did it up tight, then put a scaffold pole on the handle and pulled some more 9_9 Bang! I thought cool it's gone, oh shit no it hasn't :D . It was a decent vice too, a big old record one I'd had for 20 years 9_9

  6. I'm looking to put a radial R 1 front end in my bandit project, from what I can see the bandit stem is a bit longer , so I'm wondering about cutting the yam stem and making a slug to space the 2 halves apart then welding it back together, or should I just get a bandit stem and swap it into the yam yokes ?
