  1. Need a rear B6 520 sprocket, but not having any luck finding one from the usual places (done a site search too!). Are there any from other models that would fit the Bandit carrier? I assume the Teapot/Bandit front ones are interchangeable, but if anybody knows different...

Give these folk a call http://www.pittedforks.co.uk/ they re-chromed my forks a few years ago and it worked out about half the price of a new set of stanchions. I don't know how much it will be now but their work is good and my forks are still good today. They did a collect and delivery as part of the cost and they removed the stanchions from the fork bottoms which is a real pain in the arse on USD forks. But like Gixer1460 says it may prove a lot cheaper to buy a good second hand set. Best do some research on the prices mate.

I can vouch for their work, they are very good. I think they offer a strip/rebuild service, but they prefer the bare stanchions (if I remember correctly).

Left is ZXR 750 ally split flange, middle is GSX 600F standard flange off an old pipe and right is GPX 750 ally split flange which are exactly the same as the ZXR 750 ones, same casting numbers and everything.

GSX 600 F flange sat on top of ZXR 750 one. The hole size and spacing is the same for the exhaust studs/bolts. The only difference is the hole in the steel GSXF flange is a fraction bigger than the Kawasaki flange. I tried them on my Motad GSXR 750 pipe and they fit the pipes fine. The reason I ended up searching for split flanges was because my Motad has the bent cast flanges from overtightening.

Happy days! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that mate, much appreciated (y)(y)(y)

Sam Baker made some for me recently. It's not clear how Motad pipes went on so you may need the stock collets to use their flanges, so they may not work with the pipe you want to fit. It's a new one on me that the Kawasaki 750/400 split flanges will fit a Suzuki oil-cooled head though. If you get these then please report back how you got on, with pics of course:)

Hopefully it’ll work! Will report if I get them (y)

Anybody know where I can find split header flanges to suit Bandit exhaust? I had to chop mine off, so bad was the steel-ally interaction :| Don’t want to mess about chopping the pipes about, but don’t want to waste an otherwise fine set of headers either... Have looked on the webz, but can only find stuff for German luxo-barges.

Oops, posted this twice cos on first attempt it refused to upload. Sorry, pls delete one of them!

Your the second person to say leave as is Ronny :o and to be fair it is well painted, just not to my taste. Still makes a change from all the restored ones these days.

It’s not the colours I’d have chosen either, but it does have something about it! Get yourself an Avirex leather jacket, and some Bollgame jeans, and bingo, you’re 25 years younger xD

Whatever you end up doing, all the best with it mate :)

12 fits straight into the 6. Common up-grade with R1/R6 shock.

Cheers mate, but it’s for the 550 project which has absolutely bugger all clearance with a 600 one in there. The 600 pivot is 38mm OD so the extra 4mm would definitely foul the crankcase. Never mind 9_9

  8. Hallo mate, just saw your sweet looking bike on t’other thread :)

I can tell you it’s a bloody tight fit, still haven’t got it all measured up properly yet, (horrible virusy thing making me feel like crap) but hope to make a bit of progress tomorrow... After much mocking-up (loosely) of rear suspension components, it’s gonna be easier to use a twin-shock setup (the official line is that it looks more period xD). Of course that means extra bracing, but no harm in that. A lot of things I’ve come across have been annoyingly close to fitting, but dont, ho-hum.

I think (could be wrong) that 750 frames are larger, so you could probably save a good bit of hassle if you had one of them to start from, but where’s the fun in that? :D

Sorry, mis-read your post as fitting GSXR750 motor! Told you I was ill!
