Massive design flaw on Harris's part. A M8 modified the arrangement on his before it saw any weight.
Do you know, ive heard of 4 now that have snapped. I plan on re engineering the side stand mounting point. Maybe make a bracket that picks up on 3 or 4 positions. Do you have any details at all? Thanks.

Oh yes, this is lovely. Will look forward to seeing the updates bud. Lovely bike indeed.

Havent updayed for ages now. So, ive covered iver 2000 miles since it’s MoT early April. I took it to the TT. Had an issue with the oil cooler but apart from that it went ok. Engine turns out to be good except smoking on overrun. So that will need sorting out at some stage. Major issue last Sunday. The bottom engine mount where the side stand assembly attaches to snapped.

Few things. Decided to fit the brand new RS38’s. These ones were borrowed from my Spondon build. This motor is an unknown item. At least if i put new carbs on i can say they will be fine. Wiring loom is nearly there now. Just need to fit the connectors in the headlight, coils and under the seat for light and blinkers. Clutch slave cylinder came off my blue Bandit. After bleeding it, the piston came out too far. It fouled the chain The push rod was too short so i bought a bit of 6mm silver steel and made a new rod. I bled the clutch and after getting it working lovely, i noticed the fluid level had gone down. The slave cylinder is corroded. No drama. I have 3 spare ones
Tank is back now. Shitty paint has been sorted. See if i can get the loom finished by the weekend.

Lovely lovely build.
One piece of advice if I may.
The tygon reservoirs. You need a breather hole on brake reseviors. You normally have a tiny hole in the cap and a rubber bellow beneath. With no breather hole, like those stupid "hrc" tubes, as the pads wear or the fluid heats up an cools, the Pistons pull back to where they are when the pads where new and you get a load of travel on the brake lever. It only takes a tiny amout of wear to cause issues.
Yep. I learnt this lesson a while back. Had one of those streetfighter bling rear reservoirs. It kept locking the rear brake up. The little caps i made have a tiny hole in.

Finish the loom, fit the number plate bracket, make and fit the carbon undertray, fit the bodywork and it’s about done. Another couple of weeks hopefully.

Tried adding a newish pic above, but technology fails me. :-/ Bike is still going ok. Engine is the same still. Still smoke on over run. Clutch is a bit grabby now too. Swapped the RS38’s for the smaller 36’s. Much better. Much more responsive. the rest is still ok.
