  1. Hi guys,

I need to change from the early type oil pan to the newer type because the headers on my 750f are from a 98> and currently hits the oil pan. I have done some digging around in the search but i don't actually have a complete answer. I have read that it has been done by many but i have reservations about doing it.

The pre 98 has an extra oil way that the post 98 does not have.  Is it critical / pressurised or just a run off into the oil pan?

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. Hi guys,

It's been quite a while since i posted, I'm back with another project.

I have a GSX750F which i have stripped down. I bought a GSX550ES frame and swinger which i'm putting the 750 oil boiler into. I know the 750 front end bolts into the 550 frame and have read the rear wheel fits the 550 swing arm BUT after test fitting today, the 550 swing arm is around 1 inch too narrow. I can't even get the caliper carrier slotted in.

Does anyone know how to fit the GSX750F rear wheel into this swingarm? Is the 600f wheel narrower?

Here's some pics of the bike, It was a garden find that was sat for at least 30 years. the one next to it was a Gurls blouse xbr500 thumper that i also had from there but i sold it a few weeks back. the gs is now stripped to the frame for de lugging and trimming for a seat unit.

Now im really confused. Someone please enlighten me and not in code

the Gurls blouse part above was a bike maker, they auto insert words. Thats what i was talking about, thought i broke the rules by saying the makers name but i may have broke the rules asking for a job to be priced up.

Rule # 11. NO FUCKING COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING without permission from the admin team. See the Traders section for how to apply to get that permission.

Although i didnt see that you advertised it personally.

  4. I saw your build, looking good!

No one around my part of the uk will do a stem swap, they say its too dangerous and they dont want anything to do with it, which sucks! Just covering their backs i guess.

The 92 - 95  GSXR750w uses the same bearing size as the gs550, but i guess its the stem length that also matters. i have read in a few places they are a direct bolt on but can't find a confirmed post from anyone who has actually done it. I did consider GS500 and gsx400/600 forks just to get the 17 inch wheels on the bike.

  5. Hi Guys,

I have a 1980 GS550 I am wanting to mod a little, front end and rear end swaps basically. I've been looking all over for info and i can't find exactly the answers that i need.

So far i understand the GSXR750W USD complete front end is a direct bolt on with no mods? Are there any other USD direct bolt ons? Lastly, what options do i have for a bolt in swingarm that will take a 17 inch wheel?

    Many thanks advance!

ps:  im sorry my first post is begging for info, im stuck in the middle of a build with cash to spend!
