  1. Thanks. It's been messy and my shop needs a major cleanup but that's OK. Orbital sander w/120 grit, wet sand 120 grit foam block, wet sand 320 grit paper, 800 paper.
  2. One side done. Found some bondo. Working on some fixes for that.
  3. Getting closer to having it totally stripped. Try to finish that step tomorrow.
  4. Damn near fits. I'm gonna have to modify the location of the subframe mounts that I made, and I'm gonna make some pieces to shape the frame to match the tank but aside from those two quick things, it's a success. Whoever gelcoated and painted this is nuts. I'm stripping all the crap, loading it with redkote sealant inside to make sure there's no leakies, then slamming it with clearcoat and a good buff. My friend who makes the tail that is in the pic is getting an email to see if he'll remake it for me in carbon fiber to match. I'm almost to the time when the frame, forks and swinger can go out for powdercoat.
  5. I picked it up today. Haven't sat it in the frame yet. I'll snap some pics of the initial setup and go from there. almostthere- what airbox? Ha-ha I have no airbox, so that's a good start.
  6. Nobody knows what mods are needed for a swap like this? That's really surprising to me with this lot.
  7. Came across this. Friend has it and wants to sell for cheap. He isn't into these bikes...still don't know where he had it from. Anyhow. It's going on an oil cooled 750 chassis. What mods are needed to fit?
  8. Definitely good info guys, and exactly what I'm looking for. I just finally finished the wiring for the c.o.p. last night so I'm about ready to get this thing fired up. I'm gonna do some reasearch on the ignitech units for this bike too. Seems like the ignitech could be run after swapping to a 1100 motor later too. Dunno about the Wieltronics unit being used on both. Thanks for the responses!
  9. Well lucky for me and my particular query here there are more people on the other side of the big pond than those in the U.K. which means that there is a chance someone has some kind of experience with these products.
  10. Not sure why having a picture of the part instead of a link is better, but hey, if that's the call... It's a CDI. Seems pretty obvious. It's made by Wieltronics, which as far as I can tell is actually Horse Power Inc. Tunable with 2 switchable maps. Since a lot of you are from the other side of the pond, I was wondering if you've used this companies products and if they turned out to be worth it or just more cheap crap? Going onto the bike pictured. COP conversion will be done as soon as some other clips arrive and the loom is finished and I'd like to get the CDI sorted out ASAP so I can run it.
